Introduction: Would you like to have your skill or specialty taken away from you and couldn't be original? In the text Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut that skill or talent would be taken away. No one is better than anyone at anything and everyone has the same amount of talent or skill. If the person was intelligent they would have a radio that will slow or stop your train of thought. If are athletic they will make you wear something that will slow down your skills. For -example Harrison was fast so the government hung scrap metal over them to make him slower. If that person had a talent the government would give you a handicap that would take that talent away. If the handicaps were taken off that person would get executed or put in jail and fined.Since they had handicaps everyone did the same things. No one was different. What I learned was try and be unique. Body paragraph 1: No one can be competitive or better than someone else. According to the text, “They weren't really very good no better than anyone else would have been.” This shows that there is no competitive behavior. Therefore, there is no fun in sports because everyone has the same talent or amount of skill. Having a handicap takes the enjoyment out of playing and out of watching. According to the text, “A buzzer sounded in George’s head. His thoughts fled in panic, like bandits from a burglar.” This could affect his everyday life. In addition he could be in a dangerous situation and thinking of a way to get out of it. Then a alarm will sound in his head. Likewise that will stop him of getting out of a bad or dangerous situation. In addition with this handicap he can't get any job because he will forget what he's doing or thinking about.
