Almost 2 years ago while watching a documentary about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid when I first seen the photo of the “Fort Worth Five.” I do not understand why, but Harvey “Kid Curry” Logan immediately caught my attention. It was almost a feeling of familiarity, like I knew him from somewhere or something. After that I bought books about him and learned as much as I could about him. Harvey “Kid Curry” Logan, or Harvey Curry, has become well-known for being the evilest, and violent outlaw of his time. However, I do not agree, and Harvey Logan has become my favorite outlaw of all time.
Harvey’s mother died when he was still a young boy, and he and his brothers ended up being raised by an Aunt and Uncle in Missouri. As a young man Harvey

William Morris Stewart was born on August 9, 1825 to Miranda Morris and Frederick Augustus Stewart, on a family farm in Lyons, New York. At a young age his family moved from Lyon, New York to Mesopotamia, Ohio. At age 14, he left home to attend West Farmington Academy in Ohio and Lyons Union School in New York which he earned tuition for by working a common laborer and school teacher. With help from a Lyons attorney that provided a loan to attend Yale University, he only attended three terms from 1849 to 1850. When the gold mining became big he left to Nevada City, California on an adventure to find gold. After failing to find gold, he began to study law and by 1852 was admitted to the California bar and establishing a practice. He was known as an expert in
His family, consisting of his father, mother, and self, weren’t the happiest together. His father and mother fought a lot, most of the times over how his mother used Harvey to help her steal things. His father was a bit of an architect, and is where Harvey got the inspiration to build the hole in the ground, and perhaps even the tent that Susie’s father helped to build. Things between them were at a steady crescendo until Harvey’s mother and father were having a particularly heavy fight while driving through New Mexico. The father had eventually had enough, and proceeded to kick the mother out of the car. As she walked away into the desolate New Mexico landscape, she said her goodbyes to Harvey, and he hasn’t seen her since. This probably caused some trauma in the poor child’s head, and may be a factor in why he is the way that he

After reading Contemporary Literary Theory: Its Necessity and Impossibility, I find that I agree with most of what Robert Young says in regards to literary theory. The main point that really struck home with me was when he talked about theorists lacking the ability to connect with a wide audience. He states, “Literary theorists seem to speak and argue with each other in a private language, making little effort to address a wider audience” (Young 165). I could not agree more with this assessment. When we first read about Jacques Derrida and his theory of deconstruction I questioned my intelligence. It may as well have been written in Greek. It has been a very long time since I have encountered something that left me with absolutely nothing after reading it. I tend to agree
The Weeping Time was one of the biggest events in the history of the United States in 1857. It was the largest sale of human beings by one man, and his team. This all taking place on a racetrack in Savannah Georgia. Pierce Butler realized he had thrown the majority of his money away, and even though he was selling his other properties, it just wasn’t enough to make up for his growing debt. He decided that auctioning off his slaves would solve his debt problem. Pierce Butler inherited a hefty estate, and owned a total of 900 slaves that also lived on his plantation. Pierce split the group of 900 evenly and sent one half to the plantation of John. The other half would be sent on boat, or railway to the racetrack. George Fisher was in opposition
Kit foxes, also called Vulpes Macrotis are among the smallest foxes in America. The kit fox is very easily mistaken for a dog however when you look at their appearance you realize that proportions are not that of a dog's. They were heading toward sandbar and on the way there the mortar of the boat hit a rock. Honeycutt cut the engine after hitting the rock. They were drifting toward the falls. For some reason Honeycutt had no anchor so he was trying to paddle the other way but the
