As I entered walked through the entrance of Hershey Park, I noticed a bright sign to my left. Walking closer, I discovered that the park was looking for a handful of people to test out one of the rides that would soon be available to the public. It read, “Want to be one of the first to ride the newest attraction at Hershey Park? Sign up below!” Under the sign, a clipboard was surrounded by people trying to write their names. I waited until it cleared out. Then I walked over and wrote my name in the next blank space. I was instructed by the sign to meet with a group of employees at the back of the park at 1:00. After getting returning from Hershey’s Chocolate World, I glanced at my watch. The time was 1:49, so I decided to begin making my way to the meeting place. When I arrived at 1:59, I saw a crowd gathering below a collection of men and women in Hershey Park shirts standing on a stage. One of them had a megaphone, and he began to speak once the mob of testers had quieted down. “Hello everyone! My name is Nate, and I will showing a lucky group of you the newest edition to Hershey Park,” he told us. “Now, there were hundreds of you who signed up, but we are going to have to limit the number of people who test this ride down to …show more content…
I nodded and he stepped back. I heard a click and saw him push a button. “Run forward and jump!” he told me. I took a few nervous steps and leaped off the platform. I fell for a second, but I was caught by the harness. I screamed, but I could not hear it because of the rush of wind flying by me. As I neared the ground, I started to turn. Looking down, I could see all of Hershey Park. I started moving toward a the building that had the elevator. I flew through an opening in the side and began to slow down. A Hershey Park worker unclipped my harness, and I returned to the park. Stumbling down the stairs, I rushed off to tell my friends about what had just happened. It was truly an unforgettable
There were thoughts of actually dying and that gave me a strong excitement. The ride had begun it was slowly going up at first I could see myself getting higher and watch my mom wave at me. All of a sudden the ride had stopped. It was about to get much faster and at that exact moment my mind went blank. The ride had started going up instantaneously as I started to yell at the top of my lungs. I was faced toward the theme park as I went higher I felt butterflies squeeze my stomach. Once I reached the top the ride it stopped moving. The whole theme park was so small from the top of the ride I was surprised to realize that my mom looked like an ant. The rays of the sun were flashing into my face but I was feeling fantastic. Suddenly, there was a sound of gas release and boom the ride started to go down and things started to get bigger again.
My sense of security is screamingly absent. Their main attraction in the park is called, “dragster,” shooting out to 500 feet in the sky, with a straight angle going down. My friends have been on my tail about not being scared and not worrying about anything. The thing is, is that the roller coasters go so high and fast, with no guard rails on the sides. That places deadly snap shots in my head. While looking around in my surroundings, seeing huge bulging rocks, a beautiful sky blue lake with swans swimming and floating mindlessly. We overheard the staff members that were running this killer ride talking about shutting the ride down. That brought shock into my eyes. I was nervous once again. It seemed hopeless, as if they were going to shut down the ride because we were the next ones in line. My friends wanted to go on this ride so bad that we had waited over an hour and a half in this line. During the last five minutes we had become very paranoid. “Wouldn’t it be funny if those brakes at the top weren’t working?” Joe said, laughing at something that wasn’t funny at all. “Just shut up,” was the only thing I thought of. All of a sudden we hear this arcade type noise and lights were flashing. The ride had opened up again. The crowd was yelling and chanting. Everyone was happy.
After we passed the security we walked in to go to the Mind Eraser and it was really packed. We waited in line for 1 hour and it finally was our turn.We got seated and buckled our seatbelt for the roller coaster. After we got seated the instructors checked everyone seat belts then pushed the button to start. And there we went slowly up the the track. As soon as we got to the top the rooler coaster came to a complete stop.
I'll never forget the first time I survived going to Six Flags. The wind blowing every time you pass a roller coaster coming your way, the screams of the children, the fear and anxiety before going into the cart, and the delicious smell of all the food! When I was little I HATED roller coasters I hated the feeling in my stomach I get when I go down, but as you know you grow out of fears sometimes and start liking new things as you get older. For me one of them was starting to like roller coasters.
As Ralph Waldo Emerson once added “What you are afraid to do, is a clear indication of the next thing you need to do.” As we were pulling into the parking lot of Hersheypark, I looked up and saw a gigantic coaster, the tallest upside down coaster in the whole entire park. Before we took our trip we did research on the best rides at the park, Fahrenheit was one of the tallest coasters with a 97 degree drop and 60 mph during the ride. I was only 10 at the time and I had never gone on an upside down roller coaster before. As we were entering the park, the rollercoaster was to the left of the entrance. I was hoping we would be able to go to the other side first so I could avoid the coaster for a little while. Just my luck, we turned to the left,
I remember a day when I was walking in the Six Flags theme park in Texas with my best friend. The smell of popcorn and candy and the feeling of excitement from the little kids coming for the first time with the grandparents just enjoying the family experience. We were walking down the winding stone pathways, waiting for our next adventure at every turn. Trying not to leave our parents behind, we ran ahead enough to be in eyesight, but we were going at our own pace. He and I stood amazed at the sight of the gigantic rides as their shadows were cast down over us. The mini-shops and food stand would attract our little noses at the sight and smell of every peculiar food and trinket imaginable. My Friend, Rhett, suggested we go try a roller coaster. At first, I thought he was just joking around trying to scare me. I asked him what he really wanted to do and after that I realized that he wasn’t joking.
Then my brother, both my sisters, and parents got out of the car, and the first item I saw was advertising for the park. The advertising said “Hollywood Studios” and had a picture of a rollercoaster, and all I felt was butterflies in my stomach. The next day we woke up in the early morning to get ready so that we could arrive when the park opened. When we arrived, I could see all the rides and an enormous crowd of people swarming around trying to find the shortest line to enter the park the fastest. My sister grabbed me hastily and said “Come on, Alex, let's go get on The Rock N Roller coaster.” My parents walked with us, but they didn't ride the roller coaster, so my sister and I were the only ones from our family. As we waited in line, I felt mixed feelings shoot through my body. Then my turn came, and I slowly entered the blue seat of the ride and buckled up tightly, making sure nothing at all could get loose. On a screen the ride counted down, six, five, four, three,
If security wasn’t going fix it, they were. Demetrius decided they were going to sneak in by The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror because that was the ride they thought was going to be broken. They parked their car in the parking lot Music 54 and starting walking to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Once the got there, Demetrius and Adella hoisted the kids over the tall wall and then each other. Once they were in, the slowly walked to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. There were only a couple lights on but surprisingly, nobody saw any security, no wonder these rides were breaking
I was here I was walking threw the amazing wooden doors into the most fantastic park. I was standing on the floors of the GREAT WOLF LODGE. I was there with Amanda, Lyla, Calista, and Kira. We all quickly walked over to the check in desk so that we could get our wristbands and bust over to the water park. There were about one, two, three, four five people standing in front of us. While we were standing in line there was an amazing window that was huge and we could see every person and every ride in the park. We saw one of the biggest slides there we say the most crazy slide it was called HOWLIN TORNADO. We finally got to the front of the line and we were ready to get our wristbands on. The manager slipped on a teal waterproof wristband the said “GREAT WOLF LODGE”
If you look in the Sayre park art room, you might see someone standing in there painting or drawing or maybe even sculpting with clay. She is very elegant and friendly. But who is she?
The day was sunny and clear. We walked through the cool Chicago wind, bracing ourselves against it. Throughout the day we explored the city, visiting the Sears Tower, Navy Pier, and the Field Museum. I even got you to step out onto the Skydeck, despite your fear of heights. I dozed off on your shoulder on the train ride back home, dreaming about how great you had made my sixteenth birthday.
I felt bad for these people. They were frightened and in desperate need of nutritious food. Pellagra is a condition found mainly in third world countries where people depend mostly on a corn-based diet. We had food that could help these unfortunate folks, but it was out in the vehicles.
As the worker pressed the button to go all I could hear was people screaming from another ride. As we went up I could hear the roller coaster clicking second by second. When we got to the top it felt like we were miles above the ground. We were slowly leaning over the ground feet dangling in the air.
It was a bright Sunday morning in California, Bakersfield on Maple Street. Maple Street is a street that is peaceful with a neighborhood of cottages except for one. The one that Tommy Jones lived in. All his neighbors knew Tommy was spoiled. His parents think that he should have whatever he wants since he is little. Tommy had everything his heart desired. A flat screen TV, a remote control car, a king size bed (that’s only for him), swimming pool, trampoline, a playground, computer, etc. His older sister, Jessica, on the other hand didn’t really care what she had or didn’t have. All she needed was a book and she’d be delighted. Of course to afford all that, they needed to be rich. Tommy’s father was a lawyer and his mother was a surgeon. Since they get them whatever they want, they expected their kids to get good grades.
I closed my eyes as the ride ascended from the platform and came to a stop at the peak. I opened my eyes to nothing but the skyline. I said,” Guys if I survive this I’m going to kill you all.” The moment of truth was upon me now. The Coaster was at the mercy of gravity as we descended the massive drop. In the split second I had before we fell off the earth I knew there was nothing I could do to stop ride. As I
