Hi Aspen,
I think it's unfortunate they wouldn't bend on the public shaming, but at least you were able to do something about it on your own. I like your idea of having colors above green to reward the good behavior. As well as putting the chart behind your desk so the students attention wouldn't be drawn to it and possibly embarrass the children that are misbehaving. i remember when I was in elementary school my teachers would make a big deal out of the card system and seemed they would go out of their way to announce when someone was getting their card
In the film My Own Private Idaho by Gus Van Sant’s the movie has the power to transform one’s political sensibilities by looking over the model that is being shown in the film in the personal identity and the using factor of

In the small community of Pine Hill, where everything is always peaceful, things were about to change in major way. As business continued as usual in downtown Pine Hill a certain farmer was having trouble with an unruly goat. This was no ordinary goat though this was Gilbert the goat. Gilbert the goat was the baddest goat in Southwest Alabama and he was tired of Farmer Frank containing him in a pen. So when it was feeding time Gilbert butted Farmer Frank knocking him to the ground and with the speed of a gazelle took off out of the pen. Gilbert ran and he ran and he ran until he was out of sight of Farmer Frank’s farm. Gilbert now a free from captivity decided he was going to celebrate and started towards Pine Hill.
Brody York’s life was a living hell before he came to Pine Falls a year ago. After suffering years of abuse by wolf shifters, he found respect, friendship and love when he came to Pine Falls as a favor to his old friend Aiden St John.
The summer before my senior year, I worked at Camp Evergreen, a Christian summer camp in north Georgia. My cabin that summer was the oldest boys, there would be two first-time campers joining us. One of them was an older foster child who has had a lasting impact on the way that I empathize with the experiences of others. His name was Chris.
Skylar Hill had always loved beautiful, amazing Los Angeles. It was a place where she felt happy and alive. She was a gorgeous, tall and charming brunette. Her gray-blue eyes caught everyone's attention. Her friends saw her as an attention seeker because she loved every minute of being the center of attention. One day, Skylar was having a rough day when her mother called, telling her that her father had passed away of a heart attack. She went to bars constantly and all she drank was beer. And from that point on, she became addicted to it and drank it everyday no matter what. One day, she received a text from one of her good friends, Doniya. She was inviting her to a bonfire she was hosting outside a camp and basically in the woods. Once she

Heterotopias and Queer Spaces in “My Own Private Idaho” My Own Private Idaho, a 1991 film directed by Gus Van Sant, plays on themes of both Scott Favor (Keanu Reeves) and Mike Waters (River Phoenix) finding community, their own “space” in the homosocial scene of gay hustlers. Reaching past the homosocial aspects of hustling, Van Sant also constructs ideas of heterotopias in Mike’s narcoleptic visions where Mike finally finds his own space and clarity within his own consciousness, his own “private Idaho.” My Own Private Idaho follows the story of Scott Favor and Mike Waters, two gay male hustlers, as they navigate from Oregon to Italy in search of family.
Lewis Central has a system called PBIS which means Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports, And we use this system at our school for getting caught by our teachers doing positive things such as being Respectful, Responsibility and Initiative. And when we get caught doing those things we get cards called PBIS cards and once you get a certain amount of cards you get anything you want on the PBIS chart like homecoming tickets, blankets, Chromebook cases, etc.
I also think that the principle did you wrong when she didn’t punished those kids immediately. Telling problematic kids that she will think of a punishment and get back with it- this is not a behavior that I expect of a principle. No wonder they fear no one, not even the principle/
Long, long is the trail to Cold Mountain high. Hush, hush, the banks of the brook provide. Chirp, chirp, oft the birds come to utter their cry. Lonely, lonely, souls come not to abide.
Something that has been really working for my students is a check mark system. Each week students get a behavior chart but in their reading log where they see is daily and so do the parents. There are four categories that students get get a check mark on (staying on task, being respectful, finishing work independently and being disruptive). At the end of each day we give students who were one or all of the four categories a check mark for bad behavior. But throughout the whole day we say that is a warning for a check mark and for most students is really helps them correct their behavior. Having no check marks at the end of the week allows students to pick from the prize box and students are really excited about that.
My second semester, I had gotten used to my new life in Colorado. I realized that I was able to grow, and make a foundation of support for myself; with my advisor, friends, and co-workers. I made a stable home, where I am able to focus on my studies. My brother was out of the hospital, and my father was stationed in a federal prison in Texas; my focus did not have to be on my family. I understand, that I have to continue to take many more steps to improve my standing at Colorado State. I will continue to use the tutoring programs provided like TILT, office hours, and study groups provided by professors. I started to use TILT after work for Physics 121, and Math 161, knowing that I did not have the greatest knowledge on those subjects. TILT
Some of these consequences are more harsh than others and should be used in situations that require harsh consequences. Warnings could be used if students are talking in class and if they do not stop, they would be required to change their color card. Changing their color card requires them to get up in front of the entire class and walk to the front of the room. This instill a small sense of embarrassment, making the students not want to talk in class when they are not supposed to be talking. Consequences after the changing of their color card could be used for more serious situations.
I select this image because I found it a very stimulating piece in the classroom. This is known as the Positive Behavior Chart, it is chart were it is divided by homerooms. The boxes are shaded when something positive has been done during the class period time. Something positive can be an act of kindness, a good question being ask to the teacher based on the lecture, or the behavior as a whole class. Then chart then becomes a competition within the classrooms, whoever has the most shaded squares wins a price by the end of the semester. I found this to be a great way of learning and to have students to participate in the classroom it is an effective way in awarding students in their accomplishments in the classroom.
