MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Sophomore first baseman Marques Inman hit his third home run of the series, helping West Virginia defeat UNLV 7-5 on Sunday afternoon at Monongalia County Ballpark. The Mountaineers (13-15) took two-of-three from the Rebels (23-11), who were ranked No. 26. Over the weekend, Inman batted .750 with six hits, five RBI, five runs scored, a 1.875 slugging percentage and three walks. WVU scored seven runs on 13 hits. UNLV scored five runs on seven hits. "Yeah, we needed to hit," Mountaineers' coach Randy Mazey said. "I've been saying it all along. We're going to start hitting. It's just a matter of getting back home and sleeping in our own beds. Kyle Isbel's sacrifice fly to right field brought home Bryson Stott from third. However, WVU responded right back in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead on Inman's two-run bomb to left field. In the third, the Mountaineers tacked on another run. Back-to-back singles and a walk loaded the bases for junior Kyle Gray, who plated Gonzalez on his fielder's choice. In last week's 28-23 win over Kansas State, the Mountaineers started out hot but sputtered in the second half, which happened the previous week.
In the third, freshman Erin Lewis was hit by a pitch and advanced to third after a throwing error allowed junior Cassie Gonzales to reach. After a hit batter loaded the bases, a walk to sophomore Hallie Smith and a squeeze by LeBlanc plated another to put the Ladies up 6-2.
The play of the game came in the bottom half of the 12th inning and extended the game one more inning. After two of the first three Diamond Dawgs reached, Altamonte Springs coach Kevin Davidson decided to have McCarthy issue an intentional base-on-balls to Marshawn Taylor (Grambling State) that loaded the bases with one out. He then fanned pitcher Mathew Oset (Seminole State College) on three pitches. Devlin Granberg (Cisco Junior College) popped up down the right field line and Tyler Langley (Central Arkansas) made a diving catch to retire the side and allow the winning run to be scored in the next inning.
After Centenary tied game two at three, Dallas took advantage of a dropped popped up bunt. With one out and two on base, Jade Miller doubled to score the go-ahead run and put a pair in scoring position. Allie Driskill added an infield single that cleared the bases.
With Centenary leading game two 10-8 in the top of the seventh, sophomore Kylie Bradley blasted the first pitch she saw over the leftfield fence. However, Grambling State answered with three runs of its own to tie the game. With one out, McKenzie Johnson homered and Kenyshae Beasley singled. She stole second and scored on Mercedes Williams double. Tia Coleman followed with the game-tying single, but did not advance past first after sophomore Mackenzie Stewart struck out the final two hitters.
Morales had to be strong as Adam Polansky matched him, pitch-for-pitch, through the first five innings. He allowed one unearned run and two hits before Altamonte Springs broke open the game with five runs. His pitching line was not indicative of how well he pitched, and he took a tough loss.
Up 5-4 after four innings, Zapata and Graham drew bases loaded walks to push the Centenary lead to three. Graham drew the walk after falling behind 1-2 in the count.

However, WVU got on the board in the sixth. With one out, Hill double to left field and moved up 90 feet on a passed ball. Cole Austin's ground out scored Hill and cut the Mountaineers deficit to 4-1.
Florida added a run in the bottom of the third when Jonathan India — who walked, stole second and advanced to third on a groundout by Dalton Guthrie — scored on Buddy Reed’s triple down the right field line.
The Bruins got the run back in its half of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Again, Meyer was involved in the scoring for Pacific in the fourth inning. With two out, Von Ferguson (Everett, Wash.) was hit by a pitch, who would later come around to score when Meyer doubled to centerfield. The Patriots (26-15) tied the game in the sixth at 4, then a three-run blast by Bishop over the right-field wall put UT Tyler ahead 7-4. Bishop and the top five in the UT Tyler order accounted for nine of the 12 hits to support six-different pitchers in the win.
Martin converted the conversion run to make this a,32-6 game. The other play on the drive came on a seventy-four-yard run by Dorrick Conner.
