A call to emergency services about a semi-truck on the side of the interstate with hazard lights on turned out to be more than just engine trouble. The driver was in medical distress, and that call saved his life.
Senior Trooper John Hitchcock first responded to the call in Omaha, Nebraska. He approached the vehicle and discovered that the driver was passed out in the driver's seat and not breathing.
“I knew I had to get him out of the truck to start CPR,” said Hitchcock to KETV. A camera mounted on his State Trooper vehicle captured Hitchcock dragging the driver out of the truck.
Deputy Kurt Ferguson was also responding to the call when he saw the emergency. "[The driver's] head was purple, grayish,” said Ferguson, “one of those things
I located the vehicle and pulled behind it without my emergency lights activated and I made contact with both the female driver and passenger. Shortly after, Edwards arrived on scene and he suspected that the driver, identified as Taya
At approximately 1:28 a.m., I arrived at the scene and met with Trooper Otten, who advised what had transpired prior to my arrival. Trooper Otten stated a blue 2014 Ford F-150, driven by Eric A. Wenzel, was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 4 south of Norton Lane. While traveling northbound, the blue Ford veered to the left and entered the southbound lane of the roadway. Once in the southbound lane, the front passenger’s side of the blue Ford struck the front passenger’s side of a southbound silver 2003 Ford F-150, driven by Alan L. Schilling. Trooper Otten stated both Mr. Wenzel and Mr. Schilling sustained incapacitating injuries in the collision Trooper Otten advised the silver Ford’s front seat passenger, Sarah L. Wagner-Schilling, sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision and was not expected to survive. Trooper Otten said Mr. Wenzel admitted to having been drinking prior to the collision and was suspected of driving under the influence. All three occupants had been transported from the scene

Upon arriving on scene, I observed a body laying on the ground in the driveway of the residence, near the road. The body was laying behind a red dodge truck.

In order to understand and come up with an opinion of the murder case of Charles Wilson and whether or not there was justice served. One must first understand the case, and once they’re completely informed can they make a decision if justice was served. Charles Wilson is a U.S. Deputy Marshal. He was murdered on Election Day. There were a few men that were suspects in the murder. They were Robert Benton, who was known as U.S. Deputy Marshal Charles Wilson’s rival in the election. Another was a friend of Robert Benton. However, they were both acquitted for the murder of U.S Deputy Marshal Charles Wilson. Now there has to be someone who is charged with the murder of a high ranking individual, it has to be soon that the law enforcement can close
Sergeant Koch arrived on scene with the male subject, later identified as Frederick David Fromm. Fromm was removed from Sergeant Koch's patrol vehicle and positively identified by Zambrano and Francis as the occupant and driver of the GMC who fled the accident scene. Fromm made several spontaneous utterances stating "I was driving, I knew I shouldn't have but Karen doesn't have a license." Fromm was then placed under arrest and read his Miranda rights by my agency issued card.
Upon arrival I met with the victim, Isaac Higgins. Isaac had just been discharged from HRMC for a "Flash Burn" that affected his eyes. Isaac and his mother, Deanna Ahern, advised that while walking north out of the hospital a white truck "squealing its tires” turned the wrong direction at a fast speed and almost hit them. Deanna stated "My son and I had to jump out of the way" or they would have been "run over." Deanna stated she yelled at the driver of the truck "Hey, Watch out." to which the driver of the vehicle replied "Fuck you." Deanna stated the vehicle parked in front of the emergency
I spoke to the drivers who were all out of their vehicle and appeared that they were going to transfer information. I asked “Who was injured?” They replied that everyone was OK but one driver, later identified as Erin Feeney had injured her knee/leg. I requested Goodwill Ambulance to check on Feeney. I then asked “What happened?” Becky Boone who was operating a 2017 Silver Ford Focus stated that she believed a white vehicle struck her from behind causing her to collide with the vehicle in front of her.
M1 responded via 911 to I35 and Dane Ave for a person lying in the back of their car.
On May 4, off an interstate highway in Williston, Vermont, a truck driver named Paul Bristol(68 years old) suffered a sudden heart attack which caused him to go into the left lane and swerving along the guardrail for about 300 feet. A homeless man named James Pocock who had been living in the wood off the interstate for a couple of months seen a cloud of concrete dust as the truck hit the guardrail. He quickly sprang into action in order to save the life of Paul Bristol. James Pocock ran to the scene and found Bristol unconscious, with no pulse. Pocock then proceeded to give CPR. Pocock revived Bristol after countless CPR, which helped Bristol survive.
When arrived, he instructed nurses to take possessions of Michael’s clothes and to put them in a locked locker. Trooper Josh Brown became the primary investigating officer of the crash. He went to the accident scene early afternoon the next day after the crash. Showing up to the scene a day later, Brown did not see the vehicle or the state of the vehicle. He was involved in witness interviews, measurements of the crash scene, assisted with serving a search warrant of the vehicle, downloaded the control module of the airbag and prepared an accident report. On February 22nd, 2012, Brown participated in the processing of the vehicle with Joe Pasternak from the Montana Crime Lab. Brown testified Pasternak collected a swab of stain on the driver’s side dash and marked it as Item 15. Brown could not located the evidence to deliver to the Crime Lab. Brown has attended a basic accident investigation training at the Montana Patrol Academy. He relied on Hospital tests rather than the State Crime Lab’s test on Michael’s blood. Hospital results are to be directly for medical purposes and must not be used for legal testing. Brown later admitted he is not familiar with drug screening test and should have consulted with a toxicologist. Brown who has received the accident training did no calculations and never used a computer to assume who was the driver. He also later admitted, that the State never collected any evidence from the guardrail. His opinion was that Michael was driving the vehicle due to the fact he was found near the driver’s door. He interviewed Gloria Wells who describe Michael as being in front of the vehicle and was “scooting”. Gloria then drew a diagram and showed Michael in front of the vehicle. Brown described the forces created inside the vehicle were a forward motion. DNA testing revealed Michael’s DNA was found on the driver’s side airbag. Brown
Officer Amenn, one of the officers that arrived at the scene after a call they received about the accident stated “The car was completely recked, however, Karl was still alive and the paramedics did their best to revive him but unfortunately he died later at the scene as he had many dangerous and life threatening injuries”
”Hold on and pray.” These were the last words spoken to a 911 operator on August 29, 2009, before the speaker, Christopher Lastrella, and 3 family members died in a horrific car accident in San Diego, California. The cause of the crash? The pedal of the rented Lexus E350 was stuck in full throttle, hurtling the car down the highway at speeds of up to 120 miles per hour, rendering the brakes completely useless. Those who passed away included two adult men, an adult woman, and a thirteen year old girl. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the floor mat had caused the accelerator to be caught and unable to be released.
