It doesn 't matter what industry you 're in. If you look at your competition, you 'll see that most of them are using similar marketing strategies and tactics to attract and keep their customers. Some of them are doing better than others, but the methods are nearly identical.

If you want to eliminate the competition, you will need to distinguish yourself. And the easiest way to do this is to be authentic. Yeah, it might sound like a cliché, but nobody is identical to you, so if you be yourself, you 'll attract the clients who want to work with you, because of you.

The question to ask yourself is, "How am I different?"

When I go to networking events, people are often trying to attract me to their referral networks. Sometimes I will ask a question such as, "There are hundreds of people in the city offering the same products and services as you, and I 'm already working with a couple of great ones, so how are you different from them?"
