They have been a big part of american culture for years now. Some people say that that they are even a diction but really competitive sports are amazing for kids because of many different thing but they all kinda fit into three categories. Those three categories are, Health benefits, learning life skills, and learning social skills. It is because of those three things that I say competitive sports help kids. However many people disagree, but more of that later. Competitive sports are healthy that much has been proven. Many people that believe that by just walking to school will keep them from becoming overweight. However studies show that that only really helps kids that are either already overweight or on the cusp of it. To stay healthy you need to participate in more vigorous activities like sports. It also reacts a healthy lifestyle, which includes social health. Studies all show that kids that play on sports teams are less likely to join gangs and participate in criminal behavior. Today there is an ever growing debate on whether competitive sports are beneficial or harmful to children. While many people believe that they can be harmful, in this article I will show you some of the many ways they can be helpful to kids. There are three reasons I decided to outline here; there are life lessons can be learned, sports help improve health and they help to build self-esteem and confidence.
The first reason I think kids should play competitive sports is communication. Communication is one major skill you will need in order to get a job, and what is convenient about this is that competitive sports can teach you this life skill. Coaches who mainly focus on communication are teaching youth athletes how to maintain and start relationships such as, family, friends, etc. Communication is mainly (in sports) taught through “games” if you are playing a game such as soccer you will need to communicate with your team members in order to work together.. But communication is not only taught through sports it is also mainly taught through school from working on group projects to something as simple as recess or lunch. Some think that kids should go out for competitive sports, but others say that kids should not go out for competitive sports. Overall it should not be a thing because people take the risk of getting a fatal injury from competitive. This doesn’t sound like a good thing but many are taking a risk with most sports having contact with one another. Many players often get injuries or have a chance of getting a concussion. There are also other ways to get physically fit or eating healthy by not taking the risk of any minor or major injuries and just choosing to be healthy. The cost is also a big factor in doing competitive sports because you may have to spend a lot of money on equipment or lessons.

Sports may help improve children’s overall health. Many people against youth sports might say that participating in sports has a high risk of injury. This is not correct; children have a much less chance of injury as that of an adult. However I believe that sports can improve children’s health.
Do you have a passion, something you love to do more than anything? Imagine people trying to stop you from doing what you love because they think it’s not useful or a waste. Some people say competitive sports cost too much and they are way too dangerous for young kids to participate in. However, for many youth, competitive sports play a positive role. When kids play competitive sports, they are happier and they learn how to be healthy. Also, they learn life lessons that they will need for the future.
