Will you stop them?
Have you ever heard of Al-Qaeda? You might not have heard that name but you have probably heard of Osama Bin Laden. He is the one of the heads of this “Al-Qaeda”. It is a terrorist cell bent on destroying America. If you want to hear more, read on. Al-Qaeda is dangerous because of their goals, attacks, and because a dead foe is coming back for more.
Al-Qaeda has some despicable goals. They want to destroy the west. It is part of their religion. They also want to kill apostates, which are muslims that defect from Al-Qaeda’s religion. Another one of their goals is to cause panic and unrest. They have some nasty goals.

Al Qaeda has taken responsibility for numerous attacks and attempts, including an attack that made Osama bin Laden very well known to many people in the United States. That attack occurred on September 11, 2001. Three planes were hijacked and the hijackers flew the planes into the United States territory, destroying the
targets. On September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda successfully accomplished its most devastating attack against the United States, killing nearly 3,000 civilians. On May 2, 2011, Al Qaeda’s leader, Osama Bin Laden, was assassinated; however, the terrorist network still exists. Two days after his death, Ayman Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri was elected as the new and current leader of Al-Qaeda. The network of terrorist is powerful and still growing in the amount of their supporters. Al Qaeda is a global threat because of their large quantity of global supporters, financial position, and access to weapons and
Prior to September 11, 2001, people could sneak weapons onto planes. The weapons included explosives and tools that individuals could use to help hijack planes. In 1995, Al Qaeda plotted to bomb 12 United States trans-Pacific flights and also planned to kill Bill Clinton on his trip to the Philippines (Cronin 2). Al Qaeda is a Muslim extremist group that is known for resorting to terrorism and killing to please God. Al Qaeda (the base) a life-changing event founded by Osama Bin Laden. Al Qaeda is known to be one of the most powerful terrorist organizations in the world. This networking organization has an enormous responsibility of the September 11th attack and other bombings that has brought a great amount of grief, sadness, and sorrow to our country. It shows that everyone is different in the way think in this world and how they perform there actions. The mind of a maniac of how Osama Bin Laden had complete control over his people and how he thought he ruled the world to lead to September 11th is just sick. But it did change America’s hearts forever. We all now have a bond so strong that it can never be broken.
(CNN News) After al-Qaeda lost their leader they started to die down. Then just when you thought it would not get any worse than al-Qaeda, it did. A group known as ISIS led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, a fundamentalist Islamic leader who is said to have a far more organized and powerful military than existed under al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden came about. This group followed the beliefs of Al-Qaeda; so I believe that al-Qaeda thought about a bigger and better way to come back against America.
Al Qaeda is most known for their terrorist attacks. They have had six major attacks and four of them were towards America to seek revenge. The first terrorist attack was on December 29, 1992. They detonated two bombs in Aden, Yemen at the Movenpick Hotel and Goldmohur Hotel in hope of eliminating the American soldiers that were on their way to Somalia. Fortunately, no Americans were killed but some were injured.
Before 2001, al-Qaeda, an Islamist militant organization founded by Osama bin Laden, had proven itself a security menace to both the West and the Muslim world. Achieving its height of power in 2001, the group and its Taliban allies were on the verge of taking over Afghanistan (Longest, 7). Then the group made a central mistake: It choose to wage an offensive jihad attack against the United States on American soil. For a time after 9/11, al-Qaeda appeared largely victorious from the devastation left behind of their ruthless exploit; but instead, the craven act would prove to be the beginning of the terrorist organization’s demise.
“Jihad will remain an individual obligation until all other lands that were Muslim are returned…so Islam will reign again.” (Kepel, Milelli 54-56). Anyone who has stopped ruling people according to what God revealed, according to al-Qaeda, was now their enemy.
It is difficult to go anywhere where the Al Qaeda terrorist group is not known. While terrorist groups have been traditionally been known to influence, inhabit, and operate in areas of the Middle East. Al Qaeda has become a household name within the United States after September 11, 2001 when the group was responsible for one of the most devastating attack on the lower 48 states. The days to follow the attack are fundamentally responsible for the development and enactment of the Patriot Act by the United States.

After Al-Qaeda’s involvement in the Cold War, their planned attacks were a set-up for something bigger: the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11th, 2001. Each terrorist attack got progressively worse in terms of life lost and the amount of lives the attack altered. Each attack got closer in time, going from years apart to months apart. The increase in attacks should have set off alarms as to what was going to happen. The attacks that follow are the ones that were confirmed to have been executed by Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. There are many more attacks that have occurred that evidence suggests could be linked to the terrorist organization but have not but confirmed by the organization.

One of the principal goals of the Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) was to drive the United States armed forces out of Saudi Arabia and Somalia by violence.
