For a while it seemed like there was no curse after all but soon people would come to the conclusion that this would seem to be false. The first death was that of Howard's friend and colleague Lord Carnarvon. He was bitten by a mosquito and accidentally cut it while shaving causing it to get infected and kill him (Curse of the Pharaohs, 2017). unmuseum.org says that "Legend has it that when he died there was a short power failure and all the lights throughout Cairo went out"( Carter and the Curse of King Tuts Tomb, N.D). I have found no other accounts of this, but it seemed like an interesting story and would help build the speculation of the tale. If this actually did happen it might only be a mere coincidence or random power failure

Ancient Egyptians did have curses, although they are usually in the form of threats and occur mainly of citizens rather than royalty. A observation may indicate that royalty had protection against their enemies through other sources (Silverman). Most of the curses came from inscriptions on walls in the private tombs of the Old KIngdom, during the time when royal tombs were decorated with a set of spells called Pyramid Texts that were meant as directions for the king (Silverman). It’s rare for curses to relate to
In November of 1922, a British archaeologist named Howard Carter discovered the tomb of King Tutankhamen after searching for years in the Valley of the Kings in Thebes, Egypt.
