Plagiarism is passing off someone else’s words or ideas as your own without giving them credit for it. For example, on August 28th, 1963 Martin Luther King (Jr.) made one of the most historic speeches in American history, “I Have a Dream”. When I am writing a paper about Mr. King’s speech and are directly quoting or paraphrasing his words, I must correctly cite or quote his words so that the reader knows that the information is not my own words.
