Call to Order • The Indian River Outreach Council President called the meeting to order at 8:45 a.m. 2. Approval of Agenda • The agenda was approved as presented. 3. Approval of Minutes • Indian River Outreach Council meeting minutes of May 23, 2017 were accepted as submitted. 4. Success Story • The Indian River Director of Outreach & Events reported that the Graphic Design Impact Center opened for business on October 1, 2017. 8. Development Report • The Indian River Director of Outreach & Events distributed copies of the Indian River Guild Sponsors Packages to Council members. The Director reported that they have received $20,000 in Corporate Sponsorships their goal is $27,000. • The Vice President of Marketing & Media announced that the 2017-2018 annual report will be in the mail at the end of the week. The annual “ask letter” will be mailed during the first week of December. The Vice President spoke of different ways members can bring awareness to new people to support Hibiscus’ annual fund. The Indian River County annual fund is at $35,000 to date; the 2017-2018 goal is $167,000. There were discussions to which donations are designated to the annual fund. The Vice President will provide the Council with a report showing the profile of the donations designated to 2016-2017 annual fund. • The Indian River Director of Outreach & Events invited Council members to the Indian River’s National Philanthropy Day Celebration, being held on November 15th at the Vero Beach Museum of Art from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Nominees are the Hibiscus Indian River Guild, Past Board member Helen Robinson, and current Board member Allen Shapiro. • The Director reported on the recent third-party events; the annual Smoke Inn Cigars Golf Tournament, netted $18,893, the wine tasting event held at Varietals to netted $1,020.
