Integration in Baseball: The Road to Breaking the Color Barrier
"Someday I'm going to meet my maker. If he had to ask me why I wouldn't let a black man play, what could I tell him? Because of his color? That might not be a good enough answer." –Happy Chandler (Baseball-Integration 1). Integration in baseball helped the country change its feelings for African Americans. It helped the country realize that African Americans are people too and can compete with any other race just as well as whites can. Integration improved the game of baseball, in the United States by adding a certain mixture to teams.
