Interesting Animals in the Wild

“Those who wish to pet and baby wild animals "love" them. But those who respect their natures and wish to let them live normal lives, love them more,” (Teale). This quote shows that people who keep wild animals as pets do not realize that the native environment provides the wild animals with the necessities they cannot receive as a pet. Permits should not be given to people to own wild and exotic animals as pets because it is inhumane and dangerous.

My father acquired Ball Pythons not only for his exotic animal store, but for my brother Mark. He loves snakes and other reptiles. They are considered good snakes for first time snake owners because they do not grow as big as other constrictive snakes. They can grow to be up to 3-5 feet in length. Considered to be docile snakes, pythons can thrive in captivity if given the proper devotion and care.

The Burmese python is a very large and dangerous snake. Owners go into the store and buy a snake, they like, not realizing how big it's going to get. According to source one, “… Capable of growing to an astonishing length of  23 feet and weigh up to about 200 pounds.” This example provides proof the pythons grow to big to be kept in the house. Josh Donlan from “Restoring America’s Big, Wild Animals” argues that although species such as camels, lions, and mammoths that disappeared 13,000 years ago cannot be brought back in the same form, restoring close relatives is a possibility and can potentially economically and culturally benefit ecosystems. Donlan then proceeds to explain the importance of large animals, his strategy, and challenges of reintroducing large creatures. On the other hand, Dustin R. Rubenstein, Daniel I. Rubenstein, Paul W. Sherman, and Thomas A. Gavin from “Pleistocene Park: Does Re-Wilding North America Represent Sound Conservation for the 21st Century?” assert that humans should focus on preventing the extinction of new animals since bringing back vanished species is improbable. In fact, restoring North America to its pre-human state may be detrimental to current species and ecosystems.

Golden Poison Dart Frogs may look like innocent, cute, small creatures, but don’t let their looks deceive you. These types of frogs are the deadliest frogs in the world. They live under certain conditions and have special defenses to protect themselves from enemy harm. Because of their characteristics, humans use them for hunting.

Ball pythons are the smallest of the python family; they grow to about 4ft. then stop growing. The Ball python’s appearance is very distinct, they have a boxy snout and black with pale spots and stripes to hide in the Savannah grass. Speaking of the Savannah, that is where the Ball python lives. They love humid weather but, not to humid. The Ball python can live up to be 50 years old.

Eyelash vipers reach sexual maturity at two years old. During the period of gestation the mother gains mass and get slower, leaving her highly vulnerable to predators. Once the young ones emerge the mother needs to hunt.
