Jake's Short Story: Go To High School

A stranger in the village is someone that is new to a place or isn’t familiar with something. Approximately two years ago I moved, which meant I had to move schools too. I was 15 years when I moved to McEachern High School but it made me be a more independent person.

How could Ally forget that she had the biggest test of the year tomorrow? When the bell rang, Ally grabbed a piece of paper from Mrs.Woods class and sped-walked to her flex period. Once she arrived at the library, she sat at an available table . On her piece of paper she made a schedule for tonight and how she could study, go to Grandma’s , and play in the championship. That is when she had an idea! She would go to her game and straight from her game , she would go to grandma’s party, drop off her present, ask her if they could spend time together over the weekend because she is very busy and go home to study. The sound of construction crews and the smell of wood, plaster, and paint was so common placed now that it had become just another aspect of everyday life. With so much constant damage being done hourly, the only choice that could be made was to remove everything of value and replace them with easily replaceable and worthless copies of the originals. There is a school in Rhode Island called Opequonsett High. It is full of jocks, mean girls, and popular kids. Hidden deep inside of the crowd are what you might call the outfitters. Vice Principal Mr. Brenigan wants anything BUT outfitters! The kids who did not fit in were usually the ones who got into trouble. Stella got in trouble for wearing an inappropriate shirt. Wen got in trouble for using bad words in class and Mo got in trouble for skipping class and behaving badly. They all got in big trouble for what they did. High School has definitely given me many potentials. Transferring from Leuzinger High School to Moreno Valley High School has made me noticed that I’ve learned a lot such as: how to problem solve, how to not give up on myself, and how to accomplish difficult tasks. For example, when I attended Leuzinger High School, I wasn’t open-minded. This is because I didn’t take any useful opportunity for granted such as tutoring or extra credit. Then, when I moved to Moreno Valley High School, I finally took a chance to take any opportunity into consideration because more people influenced me, which made me believe in myself. The first opportunity I took for myself was going to tutoring for honors pre calculus. Because I played sports, I had to balance

"Then comes baby in a baby carriage" was all Rafael could think about when he sees Sonny push a carriage with various bags attached to it into his apartment. In my 7th year at Bradley Middle School I had, what was arguably, the most embarrassing moment of my life. It was nearly the end of the school year, maybe mid April. That year I was forced to take Theater Arts to complete my fine arts credits so I could graduate. I know now art would have been the easier route, but 7th grade me lived for a challenge. Let me tell you that’s what that class was a challenge. Our assignment had been to recite a monologue that our teacher had chosen for us a couple of weeks ago. If only I knew about the nightmare to come.

The sun appeared over the horizon, painting the sky in countless warm golden shades. The rising sun brought with it the awakening of the people and the city started to slowly emerge from its nightly hibernation as the roads filled with vehicles that seemed to roar in the crisp morning air, As the workplaces slowly filled the noise of the roads died down as people started to go about their daily routine content with the habitual life that they continued to live. Emily, Jasmine, Rene, and Rihanna were on their way to there school, Cedarcrest Junior High, and One day they got in trouble for starting a food fight. The seniors of James High School are having a sleepover during the weekend at the school. Although it won't be as fun as they think.

My visions of attending law school were soon shattered due to the simple fact of money and time. Although arguing is a guilty pleasure of mine I was more interested in the fashion, envisioning playing dress up with famous designers. While my time spent in the apparel industry was vast and knowledgeable I yearned for something more. Having the ability to reflect on my ten year experience gave me the insight to conclude that a career was more important than just having a job.

Caleb Logan walks into High Field High School’s grand hall entrance and looks around him. There are students sitting on benches talking and laughing and students sitting at tables noses buried deep in textbooks, books, and homework. Some students looked like the cool kids in leather jackets and hair all done. He quickly scanned the crowd again looking for his best friends Lilliana and Sebastian. Caleb’s eyes lingered on a boy in the crowd of cool kids and saw him coughing and hacking. His eyes lingered a little longer, then he went off to find Sebastian and Lilliana.

When I was nine everything was huge. People, school, and even my instrument. As a third grader I could barely hold up my horn, pushing down any one of the three valves was out of the question. My parents pleaded with me, suggesting I attempt clarinet, or flute. They were tired of hearing the same three notes. I refused and stuck with my horn, slowly I gained strength in my hands and the trumpet stayed. Coming into Ridgewood High School as a freshman I had similar thoughts as when I was nine. Everything about high school is huge. The school is huge the stairs are huge and the seniors… are beyond enormous. In the winter of 2013 I had my first jazz band audition, that same winter I played with the jazz lab on fourth trumpet. That year the band
