Jeffrey Dahmer Jeffrey Dahmer was an infamous serial killer and sex offender. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 21, 1960. Jeffrey Dahmer killed 17 men between 1978 and 1991. He was sentenced to 15 life terms, but was later murdered by an inmate in 1994. His murders included rape, dismemberment, necrophilia, and cannibalism. Since most of Dahmer’s victims were African American males, many people believed his acts had to do with racism. Dahmer’s childhood was normal, however, he became antisocial and reserved as he got older due to his family’s move from Wisconsin to Ohio. When Hicks tried leaving, he was killed with a blow to the head with a barbell. He dismembered the body of his first victim, put the body parts in plastic bags then buried them in the woods. His alcoholism got out of hand soon after his first killing. After attending Ohio State University for one term, he dropped out because of how often he would drink; however, he enlisted in the army but was discharged afterwards because of his alcoholism. He then returned home to Ohio, where he dug up Hicks's remains, crushed them with a hammer and scattered the pieces even more farther in the woods. After an arrest, Dahmer’s father sent him to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin and he was arrested again for disorderly conduct the following year. The police handed him back over to Dahmer taking his word but later that same night he killed and dismembered Sinthasomphone and kept his skull as a trophy. Dahmer was intrigue by the idea that he could turn his victims into “zombies” to turn them into submissive sexual partners. He would use different techniques to inject acid or boiling water into their brains to turn them into a zombie like state. Residents of the apartments began noticing putrid smells coming from Dahmer’s apartment. On July 22, 1991, Dahmer tried to lure Tracy Edwards into his home. He was drugged and forced into the bedroom by Dahmer with a knife. Edwards, fortunately, managed to escape and two police officers picked him up. When the police arrived at the apartment, they entered Dahmer’s bedroom where they found pictures of dead bodies and dismembered limbs. They kept investigating the home which lead to a head being discovered in the refrigerator, and three more heads in the freezer, photographs of victims, and human remains. After being charged 17 murder charges, his trial began on January 30, 1992. He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, but two weeks later the court declared him guilty and he was sentenced to 15 life terms, for a total of 957
