Inaugural Speech of John F. Kennedy

This document corresponds to the commencement of a new era, the 1960s, in which the United States faced different problems: threat of nuclear war, civil rights emergence, the Space Race, communism, and foreign affairs with countries such as the USSR and Cuba. John F. Kennedy begins his inaugural speech by directly addressing the citizens of the United States, in which he declares the end of the decade and birth of a new one, which he then follows with highlighting the the importance of political involvement for the country. Kennedy then alludes to the forefathers of the country and recalls how they evoked a long lasting sense of patriotism in order for their generation and those to come, to defend the land their antecedents formed. Kennedy then shifts his audience, expressing the to the world that he praises the United States for its constant patriotism and diligence and argues that with the help of the American citizens, they will overcome any problem in order for the country to maintain their perpetual liberty and freedom. JFK, with now the attention of the world, wishes to express the loyalty of friendship between other countries and the United States; that divided it is difficult to accomplish and achieve goals but in unity there will be a stronger advantage.
