Rod Blagojevich was at the height of his political career in 2008, he was seating in his second gubernatorial term as the Governor of Illinois. Before his was the Governor he was elected to the Illinois House of Representative in 1992 and then won the US House Seat for Illinois in 1996. All of this was nice for the ascetic view of his political resume, but behind the veil he was a “devious, cynical, crass and corrupt politician”. He wouldn’t for anything to get what he wanted and the people that he wanted in the seats around him. This view began all the way back in 1992 and it only picked up speed from there.
This week, speculation about a potential presidential run from Vice President Joe Biden has increased. Maureen Dowd, a columnist for the New York Times wrote that the death of his son, Beau, has caused him to reconsider running in the 2016 election. She reports that he has been meeting with friends and family about becoming a candidate. Dowd never named any sources and the credibility of the report is not good. But it has ignited a debate this week over whether the 72-year old Vice President, will run, should run, and any possible question less certain the media can ask than “Will Hillary win the Democratic nomination?” Biden has not ruled out a third presidential campaign but has done nothing to indicate one either. Aides say many condolence

Elizabeth Warren is a democratic senator from Massachusetts who was elected on November 6, 2012. She is known for fighting for the middle class and because of this she is skilled in the topics of bankruptcy and financial pressures that face the middle class (Biography). When she was campaigning for senate in 2012 Elizabeth proposed the question: : Do we want to be a country that thinks "I got mine, and the rest of you are on your own? Or are we a country that believes that we make investments in our future so that we can thrive and our kids can do better than we do? (Issues).” She keeps the middle class in mind when making political decisions. Warren bases her political choices on her upbringing. Her family struggled with medical bills, making her in favor of Obamacare. She grew up with pride in her country, and she wants to allow immigrants to have the chance to feel the same way about the United States.
President Bill Clinton served as the governor of Arkansas from 1979–1981 and 1983–1992. He was known as the fortieth and as the forty-second governor of Arkansas. Bill Clinton’s terms as governor of Arkansas was a whopping eleven years and eleven months long, making it the second longest in the state’s history. Arkansas governors at the time were only allowed to serve two year terms. In 1980, when Clinton’s term was nearing an end, a much unknown Republican challenger by the name of Frank White took Clinton’s spot as governor in 1980. Clinton wanted to continue in politics despite the drastic setback of not being the governor of Arkansas. Bill Clinton worked two years (1980-1981) at a place called Little Rock law firm. When 1982 rolled by, Bill Clinton had attempted running for governor once again. He freely admitted his past mistakes and persuading voters to give him a second chance, Clinton swept back into office. Clinton would continue his career as governor for another four consecutive terms.
This means that even if Biden does decide to run, he may face more of an uphill battle than it may seem. He is also in the curious predicament of not being a party front-runner while being a sitting VP. Since 1960, many former Vice Presidents have failed to win a Presidential election on their own, (Nixon lost in 1960, Humphrey in 1968, Ford in 1976, Mondale in 1984, and Gore in 2000), while only LBJ and Bush Sr. were able to use their position to gain traction in the Presidential race. Biden is certainly aware of this, and because Obama is not an overwhelmingly popular President, his position as VP might not be as advantageous as it may appear. Though if were to obtain resounding union support, and support within the party elites, he may be able to buck the negative
Barbara Jordan was a keynote speaker for the Democratic National Convention in 1976. She mentioned that about 144 years ago that the members of the Democratic Party first met in convention to select a presidential candidate; since then, the democrats have continued to meet once every four years and nominate a presidential candidate. The convention is a continuation of that tradition; but, there is one thing that is something different that night – Barbara Jordan was the keynote speaker. In 1832, no one would have asked Barbara Jordan to deliver the speech, especially if it was a woman. She didn’t want to spend during her speech – having the time to praise the accomplishments of the Democratic and attacking the Republicans – and she didn’t
Everyone onstage rates their hand except for Ellison and Green.Ellison explained that he has spoken with Saban, and they worked through their difference. Here's where this gets interesting though when they ask Green why she did not raise her hand democrats should not fall into traps of attacking each other. Greene then continues say they can't allow democrats to be pitted against donors. Needless to say she proves herself to not be very Progressive whatsoever. Furthermore it's troubling how these candidates seem to be uninterested in getting large donor influence out of the party. Greene also said that she would not fall into the Trap between define the problem with this is that's what the biggest differences are on, she's basically saying she will not change anything about the DNC the way it is now. This is just going to further push progressives out of the Democratic Party. The DNC and the people running it, including these candidates all seem to not understand the big problem with the Democratic party which is extremely alarming.
