Russia is one of the most powerful countries that we have yet seen in the world today. Russia's culture, language, land, and traditions have been around since the beginning of times and are still used to this day. The history of Russia, ethnic groups, cultures and lifestyles, economy, climate, and current Russia are just a few of the most important essentials to know about Russia.
The early history of Russia is of migrating people and ancient kingdoms. Early Russia was not actually “Russia”, it was more of a collection of cities that gradually colonized into an empire. Vladimir Putin is the current president of the Russian Federation since 2012. He has improved Russia's stability as a country and has improved their economic state. Peter the Great strengthened Russia by industrial growth and wanted to modernize Russia's army. He was also the first Tsar to influence education. Joseph Stalin was a dictator of the Soviet Socialist from 1929 to 1953. However, Stalin ruled by terror and over empowerment. The Russian Revolution/ Bolshevik Revolution was one of the most explosive political events of the 20th century. It marked the end of the Romanov Dynasty and the Russian imperial rule. As for the government, the Russian economy has been a wild roller coaster ride, The Soviet economy in the 1970’s and 1980’s seemed to be one of the most political units in the world. They were strong and just seemed to be getting stronger. Although, the Soviet Union did not have major problems like lack of incentives for productivity. The workers were not working and the bosses were not paying and it turned into lack of productivity. They struggled with the economy considering they had to split into 15 different countries. Boris Yeltsin was then left in control of Russia after replacing the communist party. They had to completely rebuild the economy and political structure. Eventually factories were shut down and the government was no longer supporting the people financially in return for their goods. 50% of Russia had lived below the poverty line by this time. Mineral fuels including iron, oil, steel, gems, precious metals and machinery had become a huge resource for the economy. Russia's main exports are energy including oil, petroleum, gas, and coal.
