During his reign, Julius Ceasar expanded Rome’s geographical territory across Ancient Europe immensely, conquering areas of present-day France and Britain. The investigation will primarily focus on the political opportunities created by Caesar 's death, as well as the public reaction, from the immediate ramifications to its long-term effect on the Roman government. Julius Caesar is a leader who rose to power due to the fact of the counsel and the senate never meeting eye to eye. The reason to why there was a senate and counsel was to create a new government so a single ruler like the Tarquins wouldn’t occur again. Julius Caesar was a part of a triumvirate but Caesar became a dictator. The Senate disliked him since they didn’t know how long he would rule and the fear of him being corrupted which lead to the death of Julius Caesar. Shakespeare wrote “Julius Caesar” based on the life of Julius Caesar to show how being ambitious can lead to one’s death.

Julius Caesar was a military and politic leader which ended the Roman Republic and started the Roman Empire, which will bring many benefits to the whole territory conquered by this government. It was based in the military conquest of the North African lands and the whole Europe. Julius began his political career since he was very young. As soon as he could, he joined the Populist Party and started gaining the confidence of the plebeians by subsidizing parties and public constructions. His whole Pre-emperor period gave him some knowledge on how to make people follow him not only by what he said in his speeches but also by what he promised the entire roman nation.

If the assassination attempt on Julius Caesar had failed, I believe that due to previous scenarios, he would have used it to help him accelerate into the dictatorship that he was struggling to create. I believe this as he did something similar in Gaul, when there were revolts and riots he used them as a reason to expand his grasp on the Germanic and Gaelic tribes to cement his power and stature as a great leader, therefore it would make sense for something similar to take place if the assassination attempt had failed. Caesar would also have gathered all of the senators that were involved with the conspiracy and had public trials to show the citizens their tyrannical motives.
