A film on how love knows no bounds, where love happens in unexpected ways, Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack’s King Kong introduces the element of surprise within the plot that leaves many to feel flabbergasted at the unravelled events. A gorilla worshiped as a god by many, that goes by the name of Kong is inhabiting an unknown island where a film is set to be produced within the movie. Due to the crew’s admiration of the gorilla, they offer their star actress Ann Darrow as a sacrifice to appease the beast. However, Kong eventually falls in love with Ann, regardless of their biological differences. On the other hand, Ann already has a human companion by the name of Carl Denham who intends to rescue Ann from the gorilla’s grasp rather than to see her disappear forever with Kong. The idea that love between a beast and human seem rather trivial in the eyes of spectators who critique the movie; the plot provides a surprising element to illuminate the fact that the fondness between the individuals are portrayed different from within our usual view of what is normal. In comparison with the 2005 film adaption by director Peter Jackson, I’d say that the recent film deviated from the film to create an atmosphere where the audience are made to wait in suspense for each passing scene. Since film director Peter Jackson directed the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, many expected the movie to be an amazing spectacle. Renditions were made to fit society’s expectations today such as
In the 2016 film, Moana, a young woman and the daughter of a great Polynesian chief is next in line to inherit the throne to become the queen of her people. Torn between her father’s wishes for her to remain on the island and her strong desire to explore, Moana defies his wishes and sets off to explore her place in the world as well as find a way to save her island from the destruction to come. It is through Moana’s decision to leave the island that the film develops the themes of cultural appreciation,
Aesthetics help contribute to make a movie more enjoyable. Breaking it down, there are a few types of aesthetics that can be observed, including formalist and realistic aesthetics. The film The King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters uses realistic aesthetics, such as on camera interview, Text/data on screen, real mise-en-scene, and existing footage to make up the movie. On the other hand. Wreck-It Ralph uses formalist aesthetics like expressive mise-en-scene and expressive editing throughout the film.
In the movie, See What I’m Saying, there are three Deaf men and one Hard of Hearing women. Their names are: Robert DeMayo, TL Forsberg. Bob Hiltermann and C.J Jones. In the early 1900’s, African-American’s were treated differently because of the color of their skin. Segregation was really big at the time when it came to the rights that the blacks had compared to the whites. Blacks were not allowed to go to the same school, ride the same bus, or have certain jobs that the whites had. As time changed, so did the issue on racism. This problem somewhat improved in the 1960’s. Blacks were allowed to ride on the same bus, had more job opportunities, and could go to the same school as whites. They did have restrictions when it came to that, but you can see that over time it has improved. Racism today is better but can still be improved. Now, blacks have the same rights as whites do. They can ride the same bus

1. Preemptive arrests is when an individual is arrested before committing a criminal act. In my opinion, I don’t agree with the idea of preemptive arrest. The reason is because I believe that an individual should commit a criminal act in order to be arrested, not prior to. If a person does not commit a criminal act, then what is the point of them being arrested? In addition, in the film the precogs used their vision so that the police could see how the crime would unravel, and with that vision, it allowed for them to make a preemptive arrest (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014). In the film when the precogs predicted that Andertson would commit a murder. In my opinion, I don’t think that the visions of the future should be sufficient
Recently In Film and Media I watched a movie called “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon”. This movie was interesting to say the least and was kind of goofy in some scenes. Although I thought some parts were dumb most of this movie was good. In the next few paragraphs I am going to give you my thoughts on this film and explain the plot of the movie.
In this essay, I will offer up my analysis on the film Mulholland Drive directed by David Lynch. The best way to describe this film would be that it is an enigma. I had no idea what to make of this film on my first viewing. After watching the film a few more times I believe I cracked the code. Lynch is known for not speaking about the meaning of his films.
When it comes to the film industry, entertainment is the tool used to acquire what is desired, money. The main goal for filmmakers when they create a film is to attain money in addition to the money spent to make the movie. Therefore, in some films that they like to base off of true accounts, it is somewhat necessary to dramatize or embellish the story to really tug at the heartstrings of the films audience. They achieve this goal by the use of dramatic music, ambient lighting, and a small amount of tweaked diction. The Fighter is an excellent example of this dramatization in action because throughout the film the characters are faced with a multitude of decisions that must be made. The choices they make require the characters to choose

Movies have shown throughout our time that there is a strong underlying theme or message that can be unseen to most. It can be a minuscule significance to some, who focus on the violence and special effects, but once you start looking back at the big picture of certain films, there is so much more. A lot of people tend to focus on what is being filmed instead of how it’s being filmed. The difference is remarkable between the two films King Kong (1933) and the remake of King Kong produced in 2005. The perspective of how the story played out is very different between the two films. On one end, in the original, Kong is portrayed as a violent beast similar to a Godzilla type figure that is a huge threat to civilization. In the remake, it

The social implications children’s animated movies portray is a strong example as to why there are strong societal standards around gender, sexuality, race, and class. Most children’s films are completely heterosexual and the majority of children’s films portray male characters of more importance than female characters. Children’s film also portray characters of color to be in a lower class, to be of less importance, and are even portrayed as villains. These social implications influence the ideas that male dominance, heterosexual dominance, and white dominance make up individuals who are of more importance in society. Both the animated movies “Shark Tale” and “The Lion King” show extreme measures of racism, sexism, and how upper class
Compared to Mainland China and Taiwan, Hong Kong had a more political and economic freedom as a former British Colony, so it successfully developed its own Chinese-speaking filmmaking business and played an important role on the world cinema stage. Because Hong Kong enjoyed little or no government restriction on import quotas, it slowly became the second largest film exporter and ranked in the third place for its motion picture production in the world. At the beginning, Hong Kong film referenced elements from Hollywood films, but later, it developed its own techniques and styles of the film because as producer Terence Chang Gi-jan stated in David Bordwell’s book, “A lot of Hong Kong films
