Mark Jack Monologue

The reason why I want to go to the beach because the water is so warm and blue. It’s so blue that you can see right through the water. You can go scuba diving and you can see fish and sea shell,that’s why I want to go to the beach.

Mascot Mark was a real person, and I’m going to tell you his story. When he appeared, I was cleaning up Fenway Park in Boston, after a Red Sox game. While cleaning section AA seat 24, I heard a huge crack. I thought lightning had struck, but I would soon discover that I was very wrong. I turned around to see the field was damaged and there stood a figure.. Right on the rubber of the pitcher’s mound was a very tall green person. I don’t truly know what he is but I can best describe him as a monster. I went down to the field and we started talking, and the figure told me that his name was Mascot Mark. The Red Sox family ended up taking him in and even let him sleep at the stadium. He was very generous and loved everyone.

After leaving Mr.Leroy behind for having a possible heart attack I commenced my journey with a goal of liberating Mr. Leroyś family from slavery. I had to think long and hard about how I was going to get nourishment as well as where I was going to sleep when night approached. It was a very chilly evening and, the sky looked exceedingly dreary as I rode Flap-Jack down the dusty road. It had been about 3 hours since I started riding. Then all of a sudden I heard a loud boom. I muttered under my breath, looks like storms coming our way boy better find someplace where we can stay the night. At that instant, I yanked on the rein that was connected to Flap-Jack’s mouth and turned us both around so that we were heading towards the woods.

I am a 15 year old boy named brodey mauk, I live in a town called Escalon, California with my family but my parents are divorced. They got divorced when I was 8 or 9 but they have been good to each other but now. At my mom's house i live with my step dad and two sisters. And at my dad's house i live with my dad my step mom my brother and a little sister. I race for competitively on a race team called Nut Up race team. I was born in manteca but i have lived my whole life in escalon but i don't think i will ever move away. Because i know escalon and it's just an all out good town. But i think my personality is from school my racing and this town because this town i know a lot of people and it's nice to know a lot of people in a small town. And

My favorite sport is basketball, I have been playing ever since I was 4. And now I play for the school on the JV basketball team. The year was 1942 right smack dab in middle of World War two. One of many spies was out in his humble 1,200 square ft house. Jack, as very few people knew him wasn’t always like this, exclusive, irritable, longing for a friend. Jack probably the best artist ever, he was always being hounded by fans and reporters, until he was painting with some very flammable paints, when a very unaware man came in and started to smoke long story short he caused the Paint to explode in Jack’s face. He was rushed to the hospital and he was fine but horribly scarred. He later that month faked his death so people would stop coming to his house. All was calm and had been for many years. Staring out into the crowd, lights scorching my face as I recited the big monologue that led to my inevitable suicide, time stopped, and I finally realized that I love what I do, and I wouldn’t have made it here without him. He pushed me harder and harder, each time making it more difficult to meet his expectations for greatness, but I know he did it to make me a better performer, and I appreciate that every day. When I’m stuck in that pit of problems, whether it is about my inner obstacles or life in general that wraps its soul crushing tentacle binding me internally, he is there to free me from my internal shackles. With his guidance, I broke out of my shell and literally found a voice of my own.

The auditorium was packed with people. Of course, it was today. It’s Choosing day.I always get nervous when I'm in a crowd of people. They trained me to always be cautious of people. My instinct is to run, but I can't.

One day there was a boy named john that lived in a small town hidden between two mountains. There is this one girl he really likes but he can never talk to her because he doesn't know what to say.

Now she had got a start, and she went on and told me all about the good place. She said all a body would have to do there was to go around all day long with a harp and sing, forever and ever. So I didn't think much of it. But I never said so. I asked her if she reckoned Tom Sawyer would go there, and she said not by a considerable sight. I was glad about that, because I wanted him and me to be together.

Taken from Neil Gaiman’s ‘Don’t Ask Jack’, this extract is a descriptive story focussing on the toy Jack in the box. Narrated in the third person by an unnamed character, the story of Jack takes place in a grand house as a nursery where the toy Jack is stored. Through the voice of the narrator, Gaiman uses a sombre tone from the beginning to the end as children do not play with it and ignore it after they grow up. By utilizing a raft of emotive language, sensory detail and allusion, Gaiman addresses the children attitudes towards the toy Jack and the passing of time. The author uses several declarative statements to emphasis the fact that ‘children don’t play with it’ and sets up the tone for story.

Jack Rabbit was getting old and unnecessary noise was a nuisance. With his ears standing taller than ever, the sounds of the forest echoed louder each night as dawn set in. Timothy Toad was the first to start his bellowing croak that sounded like a burp on steroids. Gretchen Grasshopper would join in by opening her wings and stroking them together musically to serenade her beloved friends. Carlson Cardinal would sing out, “pretty girl, pretty girl, pretty girl,” until Jack would have enough and shout out, “Shut up, shut up, shut up!” All would go silent and then within minutes the rhythmic sounds would start up again. Every night was like being at a symphony concert at New York City’s Carnegie Hall with drums, violins and opera singers chiming in to annoy Jack. Night after night the same music would begin with Timothy’s friends croaking, Gretchen’s friends fiddling and Carlson’s friends chirping. If there was a full moon the band played on for longer hours and Margie Mosquito and Ollie Owl would throw in their tunes to help out.
