Samuel Langhorne Clemens, or better known as Mark Twain, had a much more difficult life than most of us realize. He went through some tough trials through out his years. Mark Twain has admitted to his childhood influencing his novels. In 1880 Jane (Jean) Lampton Clemens is born. In 1890, Mark's mother Jane passes away due to drowning. While in the bathtub, Jane suffered a heart attack brought on by a seizure, and drown. In 1891 Mark moves to Europe because of financial issues. In 1896, his daughter Susie passes away at age 24 due to spinal meningitis, putting him in a deep depression because they were so close. Everyone close to Mark seems to be leaving him behind. In 1902 His wife Livy becomes extremely ill. In 1904, Livy, Mark's wife of 34 years, that he loved so greatly passes away due to syncope. In 1906 Jean is committed to institution. His youngest daughter, Jean is diagnosed with severe epilepsy. In 1909 Jean (age 29) dies of a heart attack.
