The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines mascot as, “a person, animal, or object used as a symbol to represent a group (such as a sports team) and to bring good luck.” Hopeful sports teams around the United States rely on their mascots to bring in positive energy as motivation to help win the game. The mascot often serves as the face of a team, and acts to define the team’s character to their opponents. The mascots represent the community that the team belongs to, and that is a big role. When a mascot is offensive or isolates a particular group of people, the mascot can also bring negative attention to the team. The negative publicity will often result in a mascot change.
All over the world people use mascots to represent something. I think using Indian mascots is not a big issue. Those mascots have been used to represent their power and strength. I couldn’t see a single element in using mascot can be disgraceful to somebody’s culture. Actually in my view it’s the best way of paying homage to somebody. It’s really a surprising that Indian Native organizations are also becoming sensitive about this issue. I have never come across a single person who ever describe that this mascot means something bad about something. Mascots always used to represent qualities of different things. What had happened with them century ago that was their fault. In my view Indians didn’t try to be part of new advancement which British brought with them and that was their fault. Even now if any nation is technically or by any means is strong or advance, that will certainly rule the others, if others want to survive they have to mold themselves with the new advancements. That was really great that Indian’s were proud of their culture that they knew how to live with nature and they tried to live with that. But Like Amash people here they are strongly committed to their customs and culture but they know if they won’t mold some of their living customs then there will be very difficult for them to survive, this is was the point that Indians didn’t realize at that moment. Indian instead of adopting themselves with new advancement they have

There is a contentious argument about whether to use controversial Native American mascots and nicknames for schools or sports organizations. One side is to allow some organizations to keep the mascots, and others vote to have other mascots be banned and force the organizations to change the names. However, due to the positive benefits of costs, and tradition, schools and sports organizations should not ban the use of controversial mascots even though some mascots can provoke negative stereotypes against them.
One hundred and eight years of love, support, and faith in their ball club came down to a fundamental, opposite field single by Ben Zobrist in game seven last night at Progressive Field. The Curse of the Billy Goat has been erased from the history books, and much of the credit must go to the Cub’s President of Baseball Operations, Theo Epstein. Epstein was the President of the Red Sox over a decade ago, helping shape the team that broke the Curse of the Bambino. In 2011 he signed with the Cubs, again aiding his new team to break what seemed to be a hopeless World Series drought. Thrifty Indian’s Ace Corey Kluber took the mound for the home team while the 26-year-old Kyle Hendricks was on the hill for the Cubs. Kluber experienced a pitcher’s
If I was able to attend a large crowd, I would want to attend a cubs parade. I would go because if the cubs were in the parade, that would mean that the cubs had won the world series. One of the highlights of going to a cubs parade would be to see all the cubs players on the double decker busses. The only bad thing would be that going to a big world series parade will attract tons of people. Another great thing would be seeing all the cub's players give their speeches to the crowds. All of the players would all talk about what they liked about this season.
“It 's more than mascot status. It 's hero worship.” by David Young. Throughout history, people has used mascot to instill inspiration and fear toward an idea. “The Center for Indigenous Peoples Studies at California State University in San Bernardino surveyed 400 individuals, 98 of them Native Americans, and found that 67 percent of Native Americans agreed the "Redskins team name is a racial or racist word and symbol."” (Steele). Some mascots are offensive and racist to certain cultures and races. In, 2005, the NCAA banned schools with Native American mascots from hosting a national championship game (ProQuest Staff). Changing the mascot won’t change the history of the school or team. Some people feel unwelcome because of certain mascots. Some mascots should be banned because they are stereotypical, dishonor cultures, and are offensive.
One mascot is a real horse named Thunder. (Explained by Thunder {mascot}) He is one of the three purebred Arabians who have served as the Denver Broncos mascot since 1993. Thunder has appeared in two Super Bowls and Thunder III appeared in two different Super Bowls. The Thunders were all owned by Sharon Magness-Blake. All three horses were gray, but as they grew older, their hair turned more white. Thunders jobs are to lead the team out with Miles, the person in the horse suit, and every time the Broncos score a field goal or touchdown, he trouts the length of the field. In 2004 Thunder Sr. retired, but still made public appearances until his death in 2009. Thunder Jr. was the mascot from 2005 to 2014 until the Super Bowl where he was unable to air travel and Thunder III, took his place. Therefore, leading Thunder III to be the newest mascot. Also, Miles is a human mascot founded in 1999 on January 31, after winning the Super Bowl for the second time in a row. Unfortunately, he did not appear in person until two years later. Miles is a regular at the games, but is not like most other mascots, Miles makes time for community promotion. His biggest role is in promoting the Broncos’ reading program, “Read like a Pro” (according to Miles {mascot}).

Mascot is a popular Sydney suburb with a friendly community spirit. That’s how its residents describe this quiet, friendly suburb. It has a diverse culture and population, it’s close to Sydney and is surrounded by other great suburbs like Surry Hills, Eastgardens, Kingsford, Marrickville, Newtown, and Alexandria. It’s close to the airport, but unlike the other suburbs around it where planes frequently fly in and out, the airplane noise in Mascot is minimal.
With the exception of only three major league teams, the Angels, the Yankees, and the Dodgers, most baseball teams have a mascot. This mascot may not seem to have much of a purpose and according to some, the mascot is more beneficial in other sports, but there is a purpose to it. To ensure the crowd is entertained. However, many people still want to know why baseball has mascots. The answer is simple. It is a distraction between plays, something that people can enjoy seeing during downtime, and something that symbolizes the team.
Addressing the people who disagree with me, whom feel the name of the school and the mascot should represent this city in the past, I understand and respect why you made that decision in your own opinion, so please try to understand and respect my opinion. I feel as if our city should be shown off for our amazing accomplishments, just like any other city, but we need something that anyone can comprehend. Visitors from out of town would not recognize anything from our past and disregard it as if it wasn’t important. But, if we were to have something from present day, something that makes our city famous, so everyone will recognize our intentions, and understand what our wonderful city has done in the past. Hopefully with my decision we’ll be able to share amazing stories of our great city, and be proud of where we came from.
