1.McCloskey means to seperate the reasons for gender crossing. There are those who use gender cross as a way to express themselves and then there are those who use it to gain the benefits.By stating "My gender crossing was motivated by identity, not to be a balance sheet of utility?” McCloskey means that ze isn't using gendercrossing as a way to gain the benefits of different sexes.
2."Gender is not in every way natural" can be interpreted to say that socialy, we define the aspects of gender, it wasn't naturaly defined in our genetic makeup. I do not think that this statement contradicts the claim of hir gender crossing being movtivated by idenity.Identity is something that we change and grow with. Debates about identity as environmentally or biologically constructed have been on going in several studies. The belief that identity is innate is a form of common sense understanding that is challenged by the constructionist perspective of identity. The sex/gender identity is when a person who is determined as male or female based on biological criteria is required to act according to assigned gender roles of masculinity or femininity (Carrera et al. 2012). That being said, the sex/gender identity creates limitations on the categories a persons identity can fall under. Although we have these fixed categories, gender identity is socially constructed because there are groups outside of being a man and woman. Also, there are different types of gender identities across the world and identity is created over time.
Christopher Johnson Mccandless, an intelligent young man, dies while trying to live in Alaska; by choice. The death of Mccandless was a controversial matter: people argued their thoughts on Mccandless’ story, and who's to blame for Mccandless' death. Some say it’s Mccandless’ own stupidity, or his honorable seek for thrill. Others say it’s his parents’ horrible way of raising him, or nature’s unforeseen acts. However, it is a mixture of all these, with Mccandless being the most at fault. Mccandless might have had choices, but there were things he couldn’t control, neither can anyone else.

Football is as fun as it sounds, at least that’s what you have always heard, but is it really?. Football is a very enthusiastic game, it’s one of the games that is both fun to play and watch. Football is the most talked about topic in Mckeel, often people are in a debate that should Mckeel have a football team? Or not? Students often support the topic of having a football team in Mckeel. What they forget to pay attention to is that this decision can come at a cost, both for your health and even for your parents' money. Mckeel should not have a football team because it can cause serious injuries, it’s very expensive and it takes a commitment of both your time and effort you put into the game.
4. Do you believe whatever differences might exist between the genders are due to nature or to nurture— to biology or to socialization? Use yourself as an example: are you the way you are because you were born that way or because you were raised to be that

Twenty-one years ago this month, on September 6, 1992, the decomposed body of Christopher McCandless was discovered by moose hunters just outside the northern boundary of Denali National Park. Alexander Supertramp, a nickname used by Chris McCandless, stunned the whole nation with his unique experience. Some people said that he was a hero and he escaped from tarnished and sinful world to a wonderland in Alaska where he could live in harmony with nature. On the other side, some people judged that he was a tactless idiot who paid a price for his recklessness.
The nature side of the debate states that gender is biological. This would explain the strong relationship between the person’s sex and their gender. The theory is that because each sex shares the same physiology and anatomy, they have many psychological traits in common too. In the same way that genetics and hormones determine an individual’s sex, they also determine whether a person will behave in a more feminine or masculine way. Males are born

Sex, gender or sexual orientation are a social construction. One of exemplified is the transsexual phenomenon. Transsexual has changed h/er natural body, for example, a man who feels has an identity as feminine, then changed h/er body to be female. Automatically, after sex as a biological fact has been turned into opposite then it will affect the change that determine the validity of such individuals to act in accordance with the provision of the fixed rules on sex, gender and sexual orientation. However, sex, gender and sexual orientation is liquid (fluid), not natural and it is changeable (and constructed by social conditions). Butler (1990) believes trans-gender and homosexuality are not social deviation, but a variation in the human identity that is based on a performative act (p.
Though all of the identities that have been discussed in this seminar are of importance, the three identities I find important to discuss are transsexual, intersex and sex. Our first few readings covered these specific identities right away. Within The Gender Book, Transsexual was described as an individual whose gender identity exists primarily in contradiction to the sex that is assigned at birth (p. 36). Though according to the American Psychological Association (2014), Transgender is described as an umbrella term, which covers a person’s gender expression, identity and behavior that may not necessarily match with the sex that individual was assigned at birth. Though both are informative readings, I believe these authors were set out to
Nobody is born with a set gender, the way we walk, talk, and dress gives off the impression of being a man or woman and therefore, gender is performative, or in other words nobody possesses a gender from the beginning of their life. In our daily lives we build models of a set gender through repetition. From the moment a baby is born, the gender of the child has already been set by society. Growing up, they perform the gender they believe they should be based on how they have observed these genders to be. They do this by watching it be performed by their parents and those around them. Over and over we have seen gender being performed in more or less in the same way. The repetition gives us the idea that this is why we should be acting according to our gender.
