As medical marijuana is becoming legal, more advertisements for medical cannabis are being released. The background and color help shape the advertisement into a unique work of art that aims to grab peoples’ attention. This advertisement said, “I just saved my liver by switching to medical cannabis.” The advertisement is also associated with a well-known advertisement character for Geiko. Why are the creators writing in this way? Why is the character positioned in the way he was? Why was he facing the words? These different elements work together to produce the effect that medical marijuana is good for people and that people should buy the product.
This advertisement clearly is wanting the focus to be on the text and the character. The background is very distorted consisting of a greyish tone, varying from light to dark, and a splash of blue right through the middle. The character and the text are both in the foreground. The character is full of color he is light-green with light-brown spots around his head, one of the spots resemble a heart shape. He also has light-brown eyes. The coffee cup is in the characters’ right hand and is light-blue with dark-blue diamonds around the center. The text “I Just Saved My Liver by Switching To” is semi-bold and white while “Medical Cannabis” is bold and yellow in color. Here the advertisement is putting the focus on “Medical Cannabis” by having it brighter than the rest of the advertisement. The color of the text makes it jump out and clearly state the focal point to be about “Medical Cannabis.”
The creators of the advertisement use the words “I Just Saved My Liver by Switching to Medical Cannabis,” for several reasons. One reason is linked to the Geiko insurance commercial that airs on T.V. The original says, “I just saved a ton of money on car insurance by switching to Geiko”. The creator obviously wants it to sound similar to Geiko to reach an already existing fan/consumer base. Another reason would be linked to the scientific research on the effects of medical marijuana. Cannabis affects the liver, and the advantages of using cannabis can resolve the problems of consumers. Medical marijuana has more beneficial effects on health than just the liver. Lastly, it seems
The advertisement is about Dr Pepper. It has a can of Dr Pepper in the foreground slightly to the left of center and a cold glass of iced Dr Pepper next to the can. They are sitting on a rooftop ledge. Out to the right of the can and glass of Dr Pepper, they have their slogan in white bold lettering, “Always One of a Kind.” In the background on the street below is a large blurry crowd, making the can and glass of Dr Pepper the main focus by standing out among the people. This placement of the advertisement illustrates the slogan, “Always One of a Kind.”
Also, marijuana can be seen as being addictive in nature. “Approximately 9% of individuals that use marijuana become addicted” (Marijuana Statistics). Marijuana contains many chemicals, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which can cause many positive and negative effects to the human body and brain. A major attribute for medical marijuana is the economic advantages that are produced from the distribution of the drug. Also, the legalization of medical marijuana can portray positive and negative outcomes for law enforcement. Therefore, medical marijuana has many positive effects, such as treatment for diseases, and negative effects, such as immune system suppression. Throughout this research paper, medical marijuana will be thoroughly explained to exemplify the advantages and disadvantages of legalizing the
This type of advertisement is selfless in that it seeks to achieve satisfaction from the possibility of stopping its intended audience from smoking and nothing more. It even asks at the bottom of the picture if the individual needs help. Following up with a smokeline expresses concern for the person. In its design, the layout has a depressing background. This gloomy image is possibly representing what comes along with each deed. A glowing white font captures the viewer’s eyes, but is present to sort of highlight and make it clear that the
First, the ad itself is black and white but shows some color on one specific part. The ad starts off by attracting the audience’s attention with bright color crayons. The crayons are meant to represent cigarettes. Then, the audience eye is caught a second time by a white colored phrase above. Which is intended to call the attention on parents who are smokers. The ad also shows a hand holding a box of Marlboros,
How do medical marijuana dispensaries impact the communities around them? Is the result positive or negative? Do they harm or heal? Medical marijuana dispensaries have become more common in today’s world, leaving controversy in their wake. Even though some people believe medical marijuana clinics attract crime, they actually help the communities around them by boosting the economy and benefitting those with medical need.
David Casarett a Physician in California explains how he learned about Medical Marijuana and how he has come to recommend other physicians to research and consider medical marijuana. Casarett asks, “What if mainstream health care operated more like a medical marijuana dispensary?”
The setting of the commercial starts off with the shower running and the attractive male in a towel and turns into this paradise- like setting. This setting provides an ideal setting to match the character within the commercial. The focus of the commercial comes to be on the male. The background scenery is neutral in both settings. When the male presents the Old Spice bottle, it is a splash of color and the viewers’ eyes tend to be attracted more toward the bottle. The bottle draws attention away from the male and the background setting. This use of product placement and color contrast brought the bottle to be the center of attention of the commercial. The colors in the advertisement tend to be the same, but with the presentation of the bottle, the viewers’ eyes are opened. This draws a parallel to the use of the old Spice and the “out of the world feeling” it produces.
The gun is being filled with cigarettes in an effort to compare cigarettes to bullets. The next thing I noticed is the text on the top left and bottom of the ad the makes it pop out at you. The white, yellow and red text on the black background makes it stick out and easy easier to grasp, than if the text was a darker color. However, everything in the image pops out due to the solid black background, but the large, white text that says “Smoking Kills” really contrasts to the background. In this image there is not much repetition, but there is one thing that is repeated, the use of effects that smoking has on one’s health.

On April 16, 2015, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed a bill into law that legalized the use of medical marijuana, also known as HB1 or “Haleigh’s Hope Act”. This act allows families in need to legally possess certain oils, low in THC. Georgia is only one of numerous states have passed legislation legalizing marijuana in some form. State representative Allen Peake spearheaded the legislation that allowed for passage in Georgia. For years, local organizations have pushed for the passage of legislation that will allow families to legally obtain medical marijuana for their children and beyond. A need for legislation was recognized and research was conducted to determine the best route for Georgia

It was a beautiful Sunday morning for little Tommy. He was playing in the backyard when all of the sudden, he started vomiting constantly. His parents were concerned and rushed him to the hospital. The doctors took him in immediately and ran a series of tests. The doctors didn’t what was wrong with him until the final test. The test came back positive for colon cancer. The doctor greets the parents, and this breaks them down. The doctor suggests that he uses medical marijuana to help with the symptoms. The doctor mentions that the risks outweigh the benefits, but it will help some of his symptoms from chemotherapy. Many patients have symptoms that are very painful and uncomfortable. Many think that medical marihuana will help, but in the long
Federal government has the power to control all the state local activities including the purely local that can have substantial effect on the interstate commerce. In the case of growing marijuana plant at home for personal consumption being for medical use, the federal government banning that marijuana sounds not right at first glance. The marijuana plants are grown within a state and the grower cultivates the plant for personal use and the situation sounds like no interstate commercial activities are involved or affected.
Growing up I had a friend named Todd. He lived down the road from me, about 2 streets down. Todd use to stay at my house three or four nights a week. I never knew why, it didn’t bother me in fact, it was like having another brother. We did everything together, played on the same football team, played video games together, and went on vacationing together. To Todd my parents were his parents, they did everything he wished his parents would do. It wasn’t until high school that I finally asked Todd why he didn’t like staying at home. His response will stick with me forever. He said he didn’t like being at home because his parents were always high and because of this they would never talk to him, cook for him, or spend any amount of time with him.
Twenty-five states and the capital of the United States, Washington D.C. have legalized the use of medical marijuana. This poses a problem for employers that have a strict zero tolerance drug policy while abiding by the Americans with Disabilities Act. For example, an employee can be prescribed medical marijuana by their doctor to relieve certain diseases or symptoms such as cancer and migraines. The objective of this paper is to discuss and illustrate the right of an employer to apply their drug policy and not be required to accommodate an employee and/or applicant’s need for medical marijuana.
