What evidence is there of modern day slavery across Asia and the world today?

The evidence that modern day slavery does exist in Asia and the rest of the world is victims of modern day slavery are sharing their stories. Women and children share their stories of being trafficked and overcoming their tragic past. Many programs rescue women and children from slavery such as receiving aid and trained in a vocational job. For example, former President George W. Bush promised to donate $50 million to protect children from slavery in Thailand. In the past years, Thailand has been having a problem with child slavery. The people slaves to forced labor and suffered from malnutrition resulting in over 1 million deaths. Lao suffered from the American - Vietnamese War and the Laotian regime was corrupted and supported by the United States The United States Army was poorly planned and poorly financed. Over 30,000 Laos and Hmong people died from the war. Modern day slavery does exist in countries throughout the world because the government is corrupted and does not protect their citizens or enforce the laws. In other societies, the Romani and Gypsies have separate laws from the government and will not have any repercussions for breaking the government's laws. Citizens living in a deprived environment are more vulnerable to being trafficked because the residents are unable to support themselves.
