The Mongols, a small tribe 800 years ago expanded and conquered a lot of Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The Mongols are known for being ruthless warriors and having a negative reputation, being called “Barbarians”. They were in fact Barbaric, but how Barbaric were the Mongols really? The Mongols were extremely barbaric and were unmerciful. The Mongols caused so much destruction, caused many deaths and ruined people's lives, and not to mention how inhuman, savage and evil they were.

As mentioned before, the Mongols caused a lot of damage and destruction. The Mongols spread rapidly and conquered many areas. They would fight relentlessly and claim lands and make that area theirs. They were basically terrorist, and in many places like Nishapur (In Persia), they have conquered, destroyed, killed and claimed that land. “They then drove all the survivors, men and women, out onto the plain; and ... it was commanded that the town should be laid waste in such a manner that the site could be ploughed upon; and that ... not even cats and dogs should be left alive....” (Document 4). Not only Nishapur but many as well as places like Riazan or Kozelsk which has been completely wiped out and not a lot or none survived it. …show more content…

When Mongols conquered areas, they would make sure to wipe out everything and everyone. The leader, Genghis Khan was very strict upon his army, soldiers and people. If they would run away or flee, “In a word, unless they retreat in a body, all who take flight are put to death.” (Document 2). As previously mentioned in the second paragraph, many cities and areas around Eurasia would be destroyed completely by the Mongols, and the Mongols made sure nothing was left, including the people which caused millions of lives
