Only a person who actually read the books would be able to tell the slight differences that were made in the movie. One slight difference that was made in the movie was while in the book Mr.Tumnus decides not to drug Lucy, he drugs her in the movie and the lion (Aslan) saves her. I think that the filmmakers changed this part of the movie so the people who did not read the book would be more interested to find out who the lion is and why he saved Lucy. Another slight difference was when Mr.Tumnus and Lucy run through the forest while talking about why they are running instead of just running to escape. Again, the filmmakers probably just added this to the storyline to make suspense and keep the movie goers interested. The other slight difference
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
Another small difference is that the movie starts with the girls meeting in forest, although in the book this is a flashback later in the book.
One major difference between the text and the movie is the characters. One of the characters that seem to differ quite a bit between the movie and the book is Beowulf. Everyone think of him as the hero that killed the monsters they were terrified of and probably would never think of a “hero” as a liar. In the book it never says anything about him lying about killing Grendel’s mother as it shows in the movie; according to the text “struck it with all the strength he had left, caught her in the neck and cut it through, broke bones and all. Her body fell to the floor…”(521). Another character in Beowulf that differs is Grendel, in the movie Grendel seemed to be able to communicate with the other
The first difference that you can see is that the book was in first person and the movie was in third. This being said, there were scenes added into the movie that was not in the book. I wasn’t disappointed
The first difference I notice is in the book women are very disrespected with not having very many rights, while in the movie women are in the Mead Hall with the men partying not much in the kitchen like the book portrayed, that’s the very first thing I see. Also now in the book Beowulf rips Grendle’s arm off for his death but in the movie Beowulf grapples Grendel, who has a chain wrapped around his arm, pulling it loose. As Grendel is trying to flee Heorot, Beowulf slams the door on his arm, severing it. Also in the book Grendle’s mother goes to avenge them but in the movie his mother visits Beowulf as he is asleep with all the other villagers and she visits him in his dreams and awakens to see she has killed many men of the Herot. Also in the book the mother’s lair is guarded in the movie it’s deserted. After slaying Grendel's mother, Beowulf brings Hrunting, Grendel's head and the hilt from the giant's sword back to Heorot in the book where in the movie she brings the head to
The first difference is how Max and Kevin meet. In the book, Kevin gets his ornithopter stuck in a tree, and Max helps him get it out of the tree. In the movie, Kevin gets his ornithopter stuck in a tree, and Max just stares at him over the wooden gate trying not to get noticed, and then the next day when they come to school, Kevin is Max’s tutor. I think this is one of the most important ones
While there maybe a many changes, the movie did stick to the plot of the book for the most of the portion of the movie. Like how, Mr. Lombarn and Miss. Claythorne where the last surviving two out of the ten people who came to the island. The significance of that lead have lead to many ending like, how in the book, everyone on the island dying or, as in the movie, the ending lead to Mr. Lombarn and Miss. Claythorne surviving.
I think one of the differences I really hoped wouldn’t of been there was the fact that Sam wasn’t wearing his nasa shirt in the movie. Sarah’s mom the real estate agent never sold Henri and John their house they just kind of took the sign down and moved in without the help of a real estate agent in the movie. John’s dog transforms into a dragon like creature but without wings in the book but in the movie he turns into a giant vicious
The Giver by Lois Lowry is a story about a utopian society that turns out to be a dystopia. The story was so clever that it was made into a book and a movie. Many events and even key features are very different between the two. One difference between the book and the movie is that although the concept is the same in both, some of the main motifs are different. The most important example is friendship.
First off, an African-American woman is shown in the movie, while in the book it is claimed that differing skin colors were removed when the world was converted to sameness. Second, in the movie, Fiona has pale eyes, but Jonas has brown eyes, the complete opposite of the book. (Pale eyes signify you can see beyond). Counter to the book, the movie shows that Asher is assigned to drone pilot, whereas in the book he is assigned to be the recreation director. Also, in the movie families get injections when they go out of the house, when in the book the families get pills.
There were differences in the movie and the book, the book told the whole story the movie got to the point a lot faster than the
The first difference is that Charlie finally meets and talks to his mom. This is a big difference from the book and the movie because Charlie gets to find out who he was as a child. In the book the only time Charlie's
Differences, everyone always discusses about them. This is very common with comparing the movie version of a book and the actual book. Most of the time, both the movie and book have different scenes and dialogue. That is the same with The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkein and the movie The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey, that is directed by Peter Jackson. The main storyline for both the movie and the book is about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins who goes on a journey with thirteen dwarves with help of a wizard named Gandolf to go to the mountain to fight a dragon named Smaug. Smaug took all the dwarves treasures and is not willing to give the dwarves any of it back. In the end, the dwarves and Bilbo were able to defeat him aand get all their treasure back even if Gandolf left the whole squad in the middle of the book and movie. A main chapter or part this is evident in is in the time where Bilbo was found by
Narnia is no different for the book or the movie and each is slightly different starting off with the book. The book's plot is very simplified and is not in much detail giving it a rushed feeling with characters not being described to even some being hardly even mentioned. Along with that you have some of the more important scenes being hardly described and it saying what the characters are thinking and what the mood of the scene even is. The movie has a more in depth plot with amazing CGI to give it the realistic feeling along with some new characters to help set and develop the plot to make it feel more complete. This is shown very well in one of the last scenes with the centaur general he helps set the mood to a wartime mood and give it a more intense
One big difference would be the fact the movie leaves so much out. The book had a lot of unnecessary information that made the story tedious. The movie shortened things and made it get right to the point. Another difference would be the training process, in the movie the training was not long at all. We got an idea of how essential it was, then it went straight to the real battle. The last disparity and probably the most odd, was Peter not being in the movie much. In the book Peter had a very big role, and played a huge part in Ender's life. However, in the movie he showed up once and wasn't mentioned much after that. These discrepancies were what made these two places there own.
