Section A: Astronomy means to me about the sky and stars and the planets that has many mystery in it. There are little difference between muggle and wizard astronomy. Wizard astronomy has more story that some wizard believe more then muggle story because of history of magic and the centaurs viewers of the sky. muggle astronomy is a lot of science and technology like rockets and giant telescopes muggle has send many astronauts outer space and on many planets unlike wizards.
Section B
Mercury: Mercury is the smallest planet that is rocky and has allot of craters on its surface. mercury is also called as he roman god of thievery. Mercury is a mystery planet that has many things muggle astronomer think that creatures actually live on the planet

Mars is named after god of war the god roman.Mars is called the red planet because of the air is iron oxide giving it a red color. Mars have many craters by volcano that erupt. the biggest volcano is mount Olympus is active. Olympus is either the tallest or second tallest volcano on the planet but sciences can not tell due to atmosphere and measuring tool that can measure to …show more content…
jupiter has 3 red spots on the planet a one of them is giant red spot. The red spots is a storm call anticyclonic storm this storm is larger than Earth and is about 24–40,000 km x 12–14,000 km witch is big enough to put three earth in! Jupiter has 67 moons that been recorded. the moons are range in size Lo, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. are some of the biggest moon that are there.
Saturn: Saturn is the sixth plant from the sun and is the seconded largest in the solar system. Saturn is known as Gas planet It is named after the roman god Agriculture. The atmosphere for Saturn and traces of ammonia, acetylene, ethane, propane, phosphine, methane, Ammonia is what makes the planet look pan yellow. Saturn ring are the most visible rings in the solar system planet is the sparse the thickest ring called Phoebe ring which is tilted at an angle of 27° to the other rings.
Uranus: Uranus is the seventh planet away from the sun Uranus is called the ice giant it is the coldest planet in the solar system it can reach up to −224.2 °C all around. Uranus is named after ancient Greek deity of the sky, Uranus had Uranus has 27 known moons natural satellites They are all names after shake spare and Alexander pope The five main satellites are Miranda,Ariel,Umbriel,Titania and
Uranus was discovered by William Herschel and is 2.877 billion km away from the sun.
Neptune has 14 different moons. Neptune’s largest moon is called Triton. Triton is the only large moon in the solar system to orbit in the opposite direction to its planet’s rotation, this is known as a retrograde orbit. The distance of its orbit is 354,759 km. Its orbit period takes 5.9 days (retrograde). Triton was discovered by William Lassell. Neptune has 5 rings. Neptune is very cold compared to Earth. It is -214 degrees Celsius. Neptune is the smallest of the ice giants. Despite being smaller than Uranus, Neptune has a greater mass. Below its heavy atmosphere, Uranus is made of layers of hydrogen, helium, and methane gases. They enclose a layer of water, ammonia and methane ice. The inner core of the planet is made of
Saturn was named after the Greek God, Cronus. Saturn was the most distant of the five planets that were known to ancient civilizations. Galileo Galilei was the first to look at Saturn through a telescope in 1610. But the oldest written documentation of the ringed planet can be traced back to the Assyrians. When around 700 BCE, they portrayed Saturn as “A sparkle in the night” and named it "Star of Ninib." Later on in 1659 a Dutch astronomer called Christiaan Huygens suggested that there was a thin, flat ring surrounding Saturn as he watched Saturn through a much more powerful telescope then Galileo's. After that in 1675 Jean-Dominique Cassini, an Italian
Uranus is the only giant planet whose equator is nearly at right angles to its orbit and has 5 large moons and 22 smaller moons. It is, also, the only planet in our solar system to spin on its side. Uranus
On Earth we have one moon to look at during the night. Can you imagine looking at 50 or 60 moons at night? If we lived on Jupiter, that’s what we would see! Jupiter has 50 definite moons. There are 17 moons scientists are still examining to make sure that they are moons. Some are smaller than 1.5 miles in diameter! Jupiter’s four largest moons, and four first discovered, are known as the Galilean moons, named after their discoverer Galileo Galilee in 1610.
Asides from the planets, many of the moons orbiting the planets, especially Jupiter (Zeus) have been named according to Greek mythology. Pluto’s moon Charon was named after the boat keeper of the underworld, continuing the link between ancient Greek mythology and western society.
Jupiter Research Jupiter is the fifth and largest planet in our solar system. This gas giant has a thick atmosphere, 17 moons, and a dark, barely-visible ring. Its most prominent features are bands across its latitudes and a great red spot, (which is a storm). Jupiter is composed mostly of gas.
19. What is the scientific method, and how does it relate to the science of astronomy?
In the Solar System there is nine planets total counting Pluto and eight not counting pluto. Named after the Greek god of the underworld Pluto is the ninth of the nine planets from the sun. Pluto was discovered in February 18, 1930 by Clyde Tombaugh. Plutos the only orbit planet in the Solar System after it was classified as an orbit planet back in 2006. The planet has nine moons total Charon, Hydra, Nix, Kerberos, and Styx. Although Pluto is the largest Dwarf Planet it's smaller than most moon of the other planets. Alongside Pluto is the eighth planet from the sun otherwise known as Neptune. Due to its blue coloration Neptune was named after the Roman god of the Sea. While neptunes the third largest planet with respect to mass, according to diameter it's the fourth largest. Neptune has 14 moons and a very thin collection of rings that are made up of ice and dust
Mercury is the closes to the sun and Venus is 2nd close to the sun. Mercury and Venus are inter planets that means they are two of the 4 inter planets. They are not made of gas that is only the outer planets are the only ones that can be made of gas. Venus earth's closest neighbor in the solar system. Venus is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun and the Moon, and sometimes looks like a bright star in the morning or evening sky but I have never seen it before. Mercury is named for the ancient Roman god of trade and profit the roman people believed in many
Others speculate that ancient Romans used to believe that when the red spot was visible, it meant that Jupiter was at battle with the god of war, Mars. The gargantuan planet has a grand total of 63 moons, all of which are named for the god Jupiter’s past lovers and friends. The four biggest moons discovered by Galileo are Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Now, the four moons are called Galilean moons after their discoverer, but Galileo had intended for them to be called Medicean moons after the prestigious Medici family. Originally called Jupiter III, the moon was renamed Ganymede in the mid-1800s when the Roman Numeral system was abandoned. The story of Ganymede actually originates from Greek mythology; Ganymede was a Trojan prince who transformed into an eagle and was carried by the Greek version of Jupiter, or Zeus, to Mount Olympus where Ganymede the eagle became a type of servant to the gods. Jupiter II, later named Europa, was another lover of Jupiter or Zeus. Zeus appeared to her as a white bull and carried Europa back to her kingdom of Crete. When they arrived, Zeus turned back into his godly self and the two became
The other 22 are further away and some are smaller than Pluto. One of the largest moons is Titania and is covered with small craters. The second largest moon is Arial, it has craters, valleys and canyons on it. The darkest moon orbiting Uranus is Umbriel.
Many Gods were named different, such as the transition of Zeus to Jupiter, and Ares to Mars. Along with different names, these Gods also had different personalities. In Greek, Zeus was angry and upset all the time while in the Rome, Jupiter was more laid back. The Gods defined the Romans everyday life. Jupiter, being the “supreme god”, ruled over the skies. He was also considered the King of The Gods (Mass). It was also believed that Jupiter had reigned with his wife, and that he was one of the most important gods (Trueman). Jupiter’s position was known the be higher because of affiliation with Romulus (Mass). Jupiter also had a major effect on the society. He controlled the weather, so if the Romans did something wrong, he could of caused a drought, bringing forth no food. So, they did everything that they could do to especially appease Jupiter.
Uranus: It is the seventh planet from the sun and is referred to as a Gas Giant. Uranus rotates one full time on its axis every 17.2 hours and it turns in a direction opposite the rest of the planets besides
Saturn is one of the most interesting planets in the solar system. It is the sixth planet in the solar system, and is most famous for its stunning array of rings. It is a very easy planet to pick out in the sky because it is one of the brightest lights in the shy. It also has a very faint greenish color that makes it stand out from the rest of the objects in the sky (“Astronomy for Kids”). Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter being the only planet that is bigger. It also has at least eighteen moons, more than any other planet in the solar system. There have been three voyages to this extraordinary planet, and one is still in process today. The Pioneer II traveled to Saturn in September of 1979,
