Family and friends represent the joy of music.
Music has different meanings, but to me music is the way I express my emotions and thoughts. I like to listen to happy songs not anything sad that will make me cry because in the end, thinking positive, positive things will happen. The music I listen to reveals my personality and the way I act in life. When making a playlist, I add songs not by what year it is but what makes me smile and remember all my good memories that go with it. When I was younger my family would go on road trips for days. The only way my father would stay awake is having the music on blast. The worst part if he liked a song, he kept replaying it until we reached our destination. The song he kept replaying was “Rain over Me” (Perez, 2011) I can still remember him wiggling his fingers to imitate rain and singing “Let it rain over me, I’m rising so high out of my mind, so let it rain over me. “Listening to this song reminds me how there was wind crossing through my face and gave me that true feeling of being a human being. Music to my family are fun moments, even when my grandparents visit. Every time my grandpa would come over he would grab his cup of tea, sit back on his favorite couch and ask for us to play his favorite song “Despacito” (Fonsi, 2017). His favorite part, well the only part he knows how to sing, was “Despacito” and then saying O after every sentence. That song brought joy to my grandfather’s face and it gave us the true essences of
Music can be used to describe how we feel on the inside when we ourselves can’t seem to find the words. Music has the power to help us discover ourselves or remember something we may have lost. Music is another language people use whenever they want to express their feelings. Whether they are angry or passionate, there is always a melody for that emotion. Music helps us remember events and feel emotions - whether we want to or not. This phenomenon has changed the way we experience and remember songs. Humans have associated certain music with events and emotions for as long as we had the capability to (Baumgartner 316), so listening to these familiar sounds brings forth the memories that come with

Each song and each genre has meaning, and that meaning doesn’t necessarily have to be incredibly significant for the music to have value. At its core, music is a vehicle for the expression of culture. Each genre or style of music represents different beliefs and different communities. When I listen to a song, I feel as if I’m having a conversation with the artist, where they tell me all about their way of life. This is what makes music powerful. A song can take me to places and time periods I would never be able to see in real life. In music, I experience a separate side of the exchange of ideas that I’ve come to love through Youth in Government and
Music is the only medium that blesses both man and God at the same time and as such to see it as an entertainment factor within our worship services is a gross misunderstanding of its purpose. Music is made up of three elements: melody, harmony, and rhythm. Mankind is also made up of three parts: spirit, soul and body (1 Thess 5:23). It can be argued that music and the triune, or trichotomy, of mankind are intrinsically linked i.e. melody is likened to the spirit, harmony to the soul and rhythm to the body.
Music is interpreted differently from around the world but to me, music is motivational and inspiring. It’s a way to express emotions and a language that cannot be put into words. Music creates an avenue for empathy and a new understanding and it is part of my lifestyle. Music always gives you company when you are bored or in the shower. It gives a meaning and purpose to life. Music is important because it is the key to creativity.
Music is defined differently for each individual. It is the universal language that speaks to us all, but in different ways. It is one of the few genres that can instantly transport a person back to the past. Music is also an art of sound which expresses ideas, thoughts, and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, and harmony. It is the design of giving structural form and rhythmic pattern to combinations of sounds produce instrumentally and vocally. To me, music brings a sense of calmness, happiness, and peacefulness. Music is the absolute bread of life because it feeds my soul.
Music; Indefinable by words alone. It is not only something you can hear but what you can feel. It is something your soul is able to reach out and touch. Music also has the power to bring us as humans, together. It is one language spoken by all cultures, sexes, races, age and religions. Music also controls our emotions; it makes us happy, sad, angry, relaxed, etc. We also can express ourselves through music. It can affect our personality.. someone who listens to classical, like Mozart or Bach, all the time is going to be smarter and more intellectual than someone who listens to rap or metal, and someone who listens to more upbeat happier music, like Ska or Swing, is more likely to
“I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music.” This famous quote said by Billy Joel does a good job describing the way music can affect people. Different songs can impact people, change their moods, or bring back memories related to a certain tune. Each person, however, has their own unique taste in music; one song can be loved by one but hated by another, it all depends on our personal taste and what we can relate to. This made me wonder, what does the music I listen to say about myself? Do the lyrics define who I am as a person, or do I simply like songs because of the beat? As I looked at my top ten playlist,
The definition of music is very different to many people. Some say that music is the arrangement of sound and silence. Others like myself say music is that and much more. Music is an aural form of art that is used to express emotion and touch the hearts of the listener through the use of phrasing, dynamics, style and tone color. Music is a very universal art form.
The literal meaning of the word 'music' according to any dictionary is: 'art of combining vocal or instrumental sounds in a harmonious or expressive way.' But music has a meaning which is far broader than this. Music is life. Music means Self-expansion and oneness. It is an art by itself. Art, in any of its forms, is generated by a person, or a group of talented yet usually ordinary people, that express, willingly or not, an opinion regarding present times. It is not a want; it is a need. If you try to imagine yourself without it, you are bound to feel incomplete. For many of us, it has become a necessity of our lives. Music has no boundaries.
