One day my brothers and I were playing around, and I came up with the idea to a game of obstacles. They both said “Sure.” My brother Justin explained “You can’t touch the ground it’s lava.”My other brother and I both agreed. They had thrown different clothes on the floor so that we could step on them. One of the obstacles was when we had to not get “eaten” by the “sharks”. We had a chair on my brothers bunk bed ,and we had to hold on to the metal bars that were on top of the bunk bed.You had to sit on the chair then you had to swing, while you are still holding on to the metal bars. When you swung you couldn’t take the chair with you. My brothers had did it first. They told me “I doubt you can do this.” I replied “I can.” When I had went
Throughout a person's life, they are faced with different obstacles, and different challenges of all different types. My life in particular has been full of up and downs used to be related especially towards my social/high school life.Everybody has goals and dreams they set for themselves, but they don't always try to achieve them. People might try to, but they sometimes will have obstacles in their way, stopping them. The only thing to do is overcome the obstacles. I have many obstacles I have to overcome and accomplish in order to achieve this dream. My first obstacle will be to do well in my classes at my highschool and after graduation, apply to college. I know l have to study and work extremely hard to accomplish this goal. Since there
So Fernanda jumped and “pencil dived” to grab Roene, and it worked! But when Fernanda was grabbing Roene, she dropped the rope and hatchet. When Nathan and I were landing in the water, we had to loosen the chest strap before we landed. Once we landed we had to take it off carefully and let the parachute sink. Roene and Fernanda wanted to save the parachute, for supplies. So before they hit the water, Fernanda dropped Roene into the water, Roene swam away a little. While Fernanda was still in the air she loosened the chest strap and when she landed she took it off. Meanwhile, Roene quickly grabbed the parachute and successfully saved it. We swam towards each other while Nathan inflated the dinghy. We were about a three-minute swim away from each other, but there were some pretty big waves. When we noticed that there were sharks! While the rest of us were panicking, Fernanda discovered that they were whale sharks! She told us that whale sharks don’t eat humans! We were so relieved. While we were paddling to shore, Roene hit Nathan in the head with her oar! Nathan got a concussion, but he was okay since he just lay on the bottom of the dinghy. We were a six-hour paddle
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
Tears are rolling down my face and the rest of the world is a blur around me. Waking up at 6:00 every morning to come here? Is it worth it? Hearing whispers and laughter as I walk down a hall that seems to be never ending. Yes, I have had obstacles in my life. Yes, I have been able to overcome them. I don’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for my friends and family.
one day my cousin sister and I were all outside and bouncing on the trampoline and we were all taking turns doing cool jumps or moves and so I decided that I wanted to try and do a backflip because I was a cheerleader at the time in 6th grade and I remember I wanted to be just like this one girl on our cheer team that could do massive flips and so anyways I was very scared and worried and I kept doubting myself but finally I wasn't really thinking about it and I just started bouncing and next thing you know I was in the air and I did a backflip.
August 27th, Sometimes you just to need to know the facts, and at other times, you will need to put on your best act.
My life isn’t that appealing, I always imagined myself in better position that I am now, maybe living out of state somewhere with a boyfriend who loves me and a job that could sustain my college tuition. If you would have asked me at the age of eight what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have said something on the line of “a Lawyer, Doctor, or even an Astronaut” but no one ever tells you how hard its going to be and how much debt you’ll be in at the age of twenty-five. From childhood to adulthood, everyone chooses a path, where they must overcome obstacles thrown at them. Obstacles in life make us who where are, they make us learn, and they predict how we will turn out. My obstacles consist of mental, physical, and social throughout my childhood, adolescence, and adulthood years which made me who I am today.
Brookie, it was a privilege for you to share your success with me today, I could see that you were very proud of your accomplishment. You had chosen to take on the challenge to climb up and over the bars. Jan, shared with me that you accepted her support of holding you as you to climb up and down the bars. You soon took the courage to complete the task of climbing up and down the bars independently. Jan and you were both excited by your achievement and you continued to repeat it all afternoon. Tino pai Brookie!!
At the age of 17 years old, it is the obstacles in my life that defines who I am and who I strive to be in the next chapter of my life. In order to understand who I am and where I want to be it is important to reflect on my early experiences. I am Asian but I am definitely not the “model minority” that the news and research make us out to be. My mother gave birth to me as a teen mother. Unmarried, both my teen parents dealt with their own struggles while raising my siblings and I. Addiction was very familiar. Early in my childhood, I can recall memories of my siblings and I living with extended family members because of my parents’ inability to provide stable housing. I have witnessed my uncles on both sides of my parents’ family being affiliated with gangs, drugs and violence, and
Merriam-Webster defines growing up as such; to grow toward or arrive at full stature or physical or mental maturity. Growing up is like getting hit in the face with a brick. The brick being a metaphor for my transition into becoming an adult. My transition began at the beginning of the summer when some of my best friends graduated high school and were getting ready to go off to college. These girls included me in their group when I was only a freshman and over the past three years we formed a tight bond. Most of us had played sports together too like, basketball and track. As an underclassman I really looked towards my friends for guidance and many of them I viewed as role models. Having my friends leave for college this past summer was a real
I consider myself to be persistent. I am the type of person who will not give up until the goal is reached or achieved. I have high expectations from my family, friends, and the people I work with. Throughout my life I have faced many obstacles that have made me contemplate on giving up. However throughout all of my struggles that I have gone through, I have been able to overcome these obstacles and attain my goals.
If everyone could go throughout their entire life without having to face any difficulties, life would be too easy. We, as human beings face many challenges in our lives. We are natural problem solvers. All it takes is the desire to succeed in that which we set out to do. Facing an obstacle can be a trying event, and at times can take a toll on one’s mentality. We have become so content in our lies that any disruption could cause a major ruckus in our life. Take, for instance your job. You might have spent many hard working years at the same job, been a loyal employee, only to lose your job due to a layoff, or shutdown of the job. This becomes a major obstacle in one’s life .How you choose to look at this event varies dependent on one’s state
Obstacles are all over life, they are big and small but we try to overcome them. Many Books topics are overcoming obstacles. Two stories that people overcome obstacle are So Far From The Bamboo Grove and A Work In Progress. So Far From The Bamboo Grove is an Autobiographical fiction book about a young Japanese girl named Yoko and the Danger of World War II the AUthor is Yoko Kawashima Watkins. A Work In Progress is a Book about a double amputee Aimee Mullins she wrote about her struggles of not having two legs. These two people had big obstacles and decides to overcome them instead of letting them take over.
They say that the obstacles in our life is what makes us stronger and it shapes who we are today. My mom said that God gives the biggest battles to his strongest warriors and to not worry about things because everything will be fine. But how many obstacles do I have to overcome till I finally see the big picture?
Finally, the last day of the trip we saved the best activity for last swimming with the sharks. Once we all got to the boat we went ten miles out got the cage ready and two at a time the people went underwater and pet the sharks, Then you have the daring people who didn’t want a cage. In order to swim without the cage you need to sign a form saying; If at any time anything happens to you while underwater you are responsible for it therefore you can not sue. I signed it. So they put me in the water and a shark swam up to me and i pet it, I rode one, as i was in the water two sharks started circling me so they chummed the water on the other side of the boat and pulled me out.
