In 2008 when I decided to start going to college I had no idea what I wanted to do; besides eventually be a Game Warden. Goals that I laid out for myself were simple at the time. I foresaw nothing that was going to get in my way. I was prepared to breeze right through everything. Personal goals that I had set for myself were to continue on with a happy marriage and lose weight. My academic goals consisted of graduating by 2012 and starting a master’s program right after graduating with my bachelor’s degree. Professional goals were to get my dream career of Game Warden and I wanted to teach EMS students. As life went on things changed drastically and while some of these goals are achieved others have been long gone and some have been pushed to achieve later in …show more content…
I decided in 2008 I wanted to go back to school because of a traumatic EMS call that made me realize I could not rely on being a paramedic for the rest of my life. I set out to graduate in four years. December of 2012 was when I wanted to graduate. And I was on the right track. However, along with my life changes this goal had to be altered. With a failed marriage and losing weight I looked into joining the Air Force. I also started talking with a Department of Public Safety recruiter. I wanted out of EMS so back I was willing to settle for less than my dream of becoming a Game Warden. I was accepted to both departments. After talking to by DPS recruiter I decided this was the perfect opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream. So in 2012 instead of graduating college I joined the Air Force. In joining the Air Force it did delay my graduation; however I am better qualified for my future. When I began my college career the military was not an option. The information was always there but the ability to join was not mainly due to me being too large. Although I am four years late in graduating from my original goal, I would not change a thing about the choices I have
The most important long range goal I have ever had was to graduate high school. This has been one of my goal's throughout my career as a student. It has been my main goal because I will be the only child of my mother's to graduate from high school. My mother has always pushed me to my best and has always told me to reach for the stars with this goal, because she did not want me to get a GED like she did. My education goals consist of learning something new every day. Throughout my educational career as a student there were major and minor bumps in the road, yet my goal of being able to receive a high school diploma kept me thriving to accomplish it. Now as the last few months of school wind down closer and closer to graduation my heart grows
To become a Game Warden you must have a college degree in Wildlife Conservation. You must have at least 60 semester hours or 2 years of college. The best college for being a Game Warden is South Dakota State University.
My life long dream is to go to college and maybe become one of the best jobs in the world, a Game Warden. This job consists of not being afraid of what may come my way and be able to handle things I've never done before. This job is one the most realistic thing that relate to what I love to do. I love the outdoors and I love to fish all the time and the fact that there is a job that I would love to do is great. College is one of those necessary thing needed to get a good job so I will need to complete a total of 4 years, also known as a bachelors degree. College is on of those big things that no one is ready for because it will take you and launch you into the new world without anybody to help you. I am a young man that is looking for a
Have you ever enjoyed being outdoors or just enjoyed the wildlife? Or even just wanted to enjoy a job that you would love and not stress over? If you have, then I suggest you being a Game Warden! My future career in life I would like to become a Game Warden. A Game Warden is a person who enforces the laws on fish and wildlife. In this paper, I will be discussing some objectives you need in order in becoming a Game Warden. The three objectives will be, what a Game Warden is and what all he has to do for a PT. What the surfaces and species a Game Warden protects and what they need in their studies. Then what kind of money different types of Game Wardens make.
When I first started college, my academic goals were to learn as much as possible, join a Christian fellowship, get into the criminal justice program, decide whether or not to go to graduate school, and to graduate in four years. In addition, to also to either get a job or get accepted into an internship. My overall goal was to enjoy and make the most out of my college experience. My career goals back when I was a freshman, were to figure out if I want to join law enforcement or go to law school and find a job in the field of criminal justice, while being happy working the job. Over the course of two years, some of those goals have been achieved and some goals have been changed.
Staff members at Fieldcrest High School have always preached that if have no goals set for yourself, then that’s exactly where you’ll go; nowhere. I have learned that to be successful in life, setting goals is an essential start to the right track of achieving them. My current goals include: graduate from the University of Texas, graduate from the Dental Program at The University of Texas, and be an orthodontist. Being an active learner through my academics and extracurricular activities, will set the tone for me to excel academically throughout many years of education to become an orthodontist, will improve communication skills for years to come, and will provide critical time management skills to prioritize commitments.
At the end of my senior year of high school, I had to make a senior portfolio; part of the project was to write down your goals and make a timetable for where you see yourself in five or ten years. I wrote that my goal in life is to be happy and I skipped the timetable because if my goal is to be happy then I can’t plan out how to obtain that goal. Who knows what will make me happy in five years? Life is constantly changing; nothing actually stays the same. It is important to set goals for yourself, but my idea of goals is different. I want to be happy and my goal is to take whatever smaller steps are necessary to get there.
The events in my life that have influenced my educational goals were having children. After I graduated high school I attended a junior college with the intention and plan to become a child psychologist. After a couple semesters and some early childhood education courses I started working in preschools and put college on hold. I met my husband, had two wonderful children and was a stay-at-home mom. Once my oldest children started high school and we began looking at colleges for them to attend, I felt the need to try and finish my psychology degree. I did attend an on line university, completed my AS degree in para education and began working on my bachelor’s degree in psychology. However, I put my education on hold once more to have time for
There have been several goals that I have alsways wanted to pursue in life. Some of these goals I have already achieved; for example, such as the medical field, I have established my certifications in Medical Assistants and Nursing Assistants. I've redirected my career in the Industrial Industry, by doing this I have accomplished in being a Certified Welder and Torch Burner, with my previous education and experience this has allowed me to start a foundation for my family. I bought a car and even purchased a home, while taking care of my financial needs.
I have goals in my life, just as the great Odysseus had his own goals; Odysseus wanted to return home and slay all of the parasitic suitors, living off his fortune. My goals, on the other hand, are not so gory or dangerous, but it is also tiresome to achieve my altitudinous goals. I want to go to a nationally ranked college in business after I graduate, that is why I am
These are the closest things to goals that I have. Most of them are simple tasks like getting a college degree and becoming self-sufficient. Accomplishing these tasks is quite straightforward. First, getting a college degree should help with getting a better job in the future. Once I have a good job, I will be able to become self-sufficient. I want to become self-sufficient so that I wont have to continue to be a burden to my parents. While I already pay for most of my own stuff, I still need help from them. Paying for tuition and school supplies has really put a strain on my savings. Even with a part time job, I still needed to borrow money from my
I spent the vast majority of my childhood planning my future and wondering what kind of important job that I would hold in order to change the world. High hopes, right? I tried college for the first time and found myself easily distracted with so many options and things I could be when I grew up that I never came to a decision and eventually stopped attending. It was only when I entered the working world and obtained some experience that I realized the value of a good education and purposeful direction. I worked many jobs throughout the years only to burn out on each one as they were attractive mainly for the money. I had no drive, no passion, no desire other than to make it from paycheck to paycheck without falling behind on my bills.
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
My first year of college I didn't realize the importance of setting goals. After my first year in college, having a good job, and seeing other people that did not make such good choices, I have
Everyone should have personal goals that evolve around anything that needs to be accomplished. I set goals on a daily basis. One goal that I seem to have not truly focused on has been my college education. Considering all things, I decided I needed to focus on my college education. The first thing I needed to accomplish was to enroll in an institution for higher learning. Now that my enrollment is complete, I am an official student at the University enrolled in the undergraduate program for business management. As a student at the university, I now have to set personal goals so that I will be successful in my endeavors. My personal goals are to gain personal growth and development and graduate from my undergraduate program in business
