This section comments about leaving a legacy behind but more than leaving wealth and good and properties the author refers to a different type of legacy. Refers to the intimate legacy the value of life we leave behind. What we have been, what will people remember us by, what are we leaving behind. We leave behind our attitude, values and believes. Our legacy is not what we are worth, nor does it end the day we dye. Rather it is what the world will remember us by. The author goes into explain this period of time we have the wisdom and vision to make the legacy we want it to be. Weather it be to change memories and create new ones, live a more balance life, work on our spiritual, etc. now is the time to do it. My Legacy This was really an
Legacy to me means, after you die what people think of you. It means every little thought someone had in their mind when you died. It means what people will always remember you by. I want my legacy to inspire others and make them feel like sometimes the only thing you can do is give kindness. I also think quirkiness can be a great legacy too. To me, kindness and quirkiness is the key to life.
Think about who you are and what you have done. Now, imagine in some time from now people are remembering your life. How would they say your name? Would they say your name with respect and honor or would they say it with disgust? They will remember who you were, how you acted, and what you did. How people remember you is called a legacy. It’s also how you would want to be remembered. The legacy I would like to leave behind is an honorable one.
Throughout my high school career I have tried to impact the lives of those around me while also learning from those around me as well. Over the four years I have attended my high school,I have grown into a person who is now more attentive of the different people, opinions, and cultures that surround me and this in turn has allowed me become more open-minded. This would be the legacy I hope that I leave behind. When I graduate from school and consequently leave my community, I hope that I have left a legacy of growth. That my experience can be an example of someone else because it is my firm belief that the greatest legacy one can leave behind can be a legacy others can learn from.
I have earned a Legacy Scholarship for a number of reasons. I have attended schools in Mapleton since I was in preschool. Ever since then, I have loved going to school and have had many ambitions for myself. Because of that, I have always thought of myself as a precocious child. I believe I have had many responsibilities since I was young, and therefore making me very independent. For instance, my mom has worked nights for as long as I can remember. Because she would work nights, when I’d get home from school she would be on her way out for work. This meant that there was no one to tell me to do my homework or help me with it. Ever since I was in kindergarten I was a responsible and intelligent student and that has continued up to this date.
Just a two years ago when it was 150 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, our current first lady of the United States made a commencement speech at Bowie State University in Maryland. She gave a speech to the graduates of Bowie State University, which started giving education to black community two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. At that time, the school education was held in a small African Baptist church in Baltimore. However, because of such brave inspirited and qualified students who came to learn to become leaders in Maryland and throughout the country, a small church school started to flourish its education environment. So on this majestic
“But there is a big difference between leaving a legacy and leaving a “legacy”, through this statement it is clear that Chittister wants to set straight the path her reader is about to embark on, she wants to define what legacy it is she speaks of. The legacy she speaks of is not that of a monetary legacy rather yet, “Our legacies are the quality of the lives we leave behind’ and “It is the immaterial legacy,
If I were to leave one quote as my enduring legacy, it would be “The only person responsible for your success and failures is yourself.”. The quote’s inherent explicit message is that a person is responsible for what happens to them. This message is intended to encourage people to take accountability and responsibility for their actions’ results. On the other hand, an essential implicit motivation of the quote is to counter the inclination of people currently to blame everyone but themselves when their plans go awry. Furthermore, another implicit message of the quote is people need to become self-reliant. In today’s intricate and constantly fluctuating world, people are becoming more and more dependent on others while they fail to take liability
Because of all this, this quote is an extended metaphor for how people sometimes become more appreciated and alive after their life has come to an end, somewhat the definition of a legacy.
It is characterized in the article as something that exists whether we choose to consider it or not, it is unavoidable: others will inevitably feel the impact of our legacy. A crucial point the author is making about legacy is that our legacy is part of us that remains in the world after death. It is our attitude and values we modeled in life carrying on and remaining in the world after our we are gone.
WELCOME…TO…LEGACY PATH! Doesn’t it sound like a path that should be in a fairytale? This pathway starts from Dole Street in front of the law building to Varney Circle. This area is known to be the grand entrance to the University of Hawaii, which explains my exaggerated greeting. These bricks on the ground were from a fundraising event in which you would buy a brick, carve whatever you desire, and place it on the pathway. Now your message will last forever, hence, legacy path. Usually, there will be a food truck available near the entrance.
Although legacies may remind you of death, it also gives you a different perspective of what accomplishments and actions a person left behind when they have passed. A legacy is like an interconnection between the past and the future. For example, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat because of her skin color thus, creating an chain of event that eliminated segregation. Today, the world is still affected by her actions.
“Your deeds are your monuments” was said by Mr. Browne, a character in Wonder by R.J. Palacio. This quote means that your deeds and misdeeds are what people will remember you by when you are gone. My friends and classmates will remember me more from what I do and not what I say because my actions will speak louder than my words. Words are meaningless without action and we must do loving deeds towards others in order for others to remember us in a positive way. If we wish for the world to honor us, we must act lovingly and kindly towards everyone we encounter through our endeavors. The only way for our generation to get into the history books of the future is through the undertakings we do today, tomorrow, and in the future.
A legacy can be describe as many things. Some people leave good legacy but also bad ones. A legacy is the only thing many people remember you by. Many people have the legacy of being a great doctor or a fantastic husband. I would like mine to be about the positive things I did in life. Even when I made mistakes I want people to remember I always tried to fix what I did wrong. Well for me I would like my legacy to be good. I want to be remember as the friend who was there for any one at anytime. The lovely mother and friend who was always there.
Each generation desires to leave a respectable legacy behind. Is our generation leaving behind a good legacy? Today we are plagued with riots causing massive destruction. Our generation is destroying the places we live. We are people that cannot take no for an answer. If something does not go our way we through a temper tantrum known to the public as a riot.
There are many ways that I want to be remembered and many lives that I hope to affect in my life. There are also many goals I have that I hope I accomplish during my lifetime. Many people leave a legacy, which is a way that someone is remembered.
