I didn’t know these people. I had at most, only spoken to these kids occasionally before we were stuffed into a hot white van for 10 hours. My palms became sweaty and I couldn’t bring myself to speak as the familiar scenery of Brookfield rolled into miles of empty farmers fields, gas stations and tourist traps. Everyone crammed in this van seemed to know each other so well, their endless talking blurred into a lul.

Electricity is a vast, widely explored subject that humans largely take for granted. This vastness has sparked a large amount of curiosity in the subject. The curiosity has, in turn, sparked a large amount of exploration into the mysterious subject. And because of this, there is an equally vast amount of ways to learn about it, expanding at the same rate of our knowledge on the subject.

Sometimes I look at other people, and wonder what their home life is like. Do they have an easy life? Or is their life just as complicated as mine? As a child I grew up on a small farm in Virginia. Even as a child I had to help my mom out around the house, due to having 5 other siblings. Growing up I never really saw my dad, he’s always away training soldiers and fighting in wars. Now, I’m 20 years old and after this war I will be getting married to the love of my life. Everyday I worry about my fiance and father in the war.
