The great Netflix pricing debacle. I remember it like it was yesterday. The minute I received that email stating that the prices were going up, I immediately canceled my subscription. It is amazing how far they have come since then. Eventually, I made my way back to Netflix. There have been times when I have contemplated canceling my subscription, but there is always a new documentary or original series that pops up. My one pet peeve is that they are constantly removing titles that my son just so happens to love. That leads to a very disgruntled four year old.
One day there was an open field, but not just any open field. This field was guarded by a goddess, Nixious (Nix-e-ous) goddess of disease. In this field laid her treasure, a young rancher and her cottage with sheep. This rancher impressed the goddess, and earned the name Simkaxzi (Sim-kah-z). One day, a mischievous young thief came to the ranch to take the sheep flock. As soon as he started to put a lead on one of the sheep’s neck, the goddess awakened. Nixious as furious as ever, and picked up the thief with her mighty grasp. She called Simkaxzi down from her small cottage. Nixious announced “Here is thy thief. Simkaxzi should you be thy one to decide punishment, what would it be.” Simkaxzi replied “Let his family be cursed with a disease
Something that bugs me is when people lie about their times at swim team practice. For example, when we are doing 100s sprint and someone gets a 1:10 and lies and says that they got a 1:05. This really bugs me because it doesn't really matter what your time is because it will fluctuate from day to day. When people lie about their times everyone around them knows that they are lying so it really doesn't help them and it irritates everyone on the team. When we get out of the water and go to the locker room to change everyone is talking about that one person that does it everytime and then we all get in trouble. Also when we are swimming for a time in practice, we get recorded so coach Vicky knows if we are getting better or not, when people
As part of the effort to support department & building level emergency planning, GCCCD Public Safety oversees the campus Building Marshal Program. In coordination with department deans, chairs and managers, Building Marshals are recruited to assist with evacuation in the event of an emergency. Building Marshals are needed in every floor of every building on campus. In the event of an evacuation, Building Marshals will be wearing bright yellow vests and whistles and will be able to guide staff, students, faculty, and visitors to the nearest emergency exit and to the buildings Emergency Evacuation Points. Building Marshals must be willing to assume the required duties and be willing to participate in training to
Looking for the right new home to buy can be both fun and stressful. It's disheartening to find a home in a good location that you love only to find out something is wrong with it. However, it's best to find out about problems before you buy. Homeowners aren't always forthcoming with problems you should know about, however, they may be required to disclose certain things. Here are some red flags to look for when shopping for real estate that may help you avoid a home with hidden problems.
Weaknesses: The early customers will remember the inconsistent changing and modifying of the prices and service options; done back in 2011. This caused the loss of many members, who may remain reluctant to re-join their subscription to Netflix.
My pet peeve is bad drivers: the people who drive with no care of anyone else on the road. There are many types of bad drivers, including slow drivers, fast drivers, and those who cannot follow simple traffic instructions. There are also drivers who cannot stay in their lanes or turn too tightly at a light, almost hitting others in the process. Another predicament that frustrates me is when people do not put on their blinker until the last second. On the way to school, there is a Starbucks attached to a bunch of buildings, but the turn to get into the parking lot is on a road that has a speed limit of fifty-five miles per hour. The people that decide to turn there though, never turn their blinkers on until a couple meters before the turn, or not at all.
I do not know what things to be included in a self-introduction in general, but for me, without talking about my inner struggles which tightly have wrapped up in me, there is nothing much to talk about me. My life has been shaped by, with, and around them.
A pet peeve of mine that pushes my limits is when a person is mad or extremely moody for their own personal reason and then decide to take out their irritation on somebody else. This behavior rises my own temper when somebody else’s temper gets the best of them. Not only do I see it as being rude but when it doesn’t involve the other person being at fault, it infuriates me. Every person experiences bad days where your attitude is very negative but it gives you no reason to be harm someone else’s feelings or mood. Still, a normal action like experiencing a bad feeling and making a remark just shakes my nerves.
One of my favorite things about hockey is meeting all the kids and their families. It is like every one is a big crazy family. At tournaments we play mini sticks, we all eat together to. Another thing I like about hockey is that instead of just working out you can have fun and have a work out.
I have attended American Public schools all my life and always felt something is missing. I'll go home everyday to do my regular math, english, and science homework so i'll be prepared the next day for school, but i wasn't satisfied, even though i was making high grades. I always felt that the most important thing to learn about is not being taught. I go to school, say am muslim, and I am arab, but don't know how to read or write arabic, barely know the alphabets, and then 'll ask myself why can't I attend Arabic Muslim School to learn my language and religion? I know how to read, write, and speak english. So why i don't attend a muslim school to learn Arabic and Islam, and finally go home feeling pleased and satisfied that
Greek mythology and Roman mythology are almost identical. This is an accepted fact, as it is widely known that the Romans stole the Greek myths. However, it is very interesting to note that the mythology of the Vikings (Norse) has many similarities with the Greek myths. These myths are, by no means, identical to the Greek ones (like the Roman ones are), but there are very distinct commonalities between the two. I see two possible reasons for this besides pure coincidence.
The first fallacy of focus is number six: Humans are responsible for global warming. This research shows to be in the early stage, but the work that is being placed into this theory, according to Union of Concerned Scientist, “most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century.” This gives major indication that humans can and do have some type of affect over the global warming. Fallacy number eight: Global warming will result in more extreme weather events. The extremity of the weather nationally has been in a world wind events. According to, National Wildlife Federation “More and more Americans will be living in places highly vulnerable to weather and climate extremes as population continues to
Nightmares are realistic and frightening dreams that wake you up from a deep sleep. The dreamer can either fully or partially recall the dream, which separates them from night terrors. They give strong feelings of terror and distress, but what causes them? Researchers are not sure why we have nightmares, or why we even dream at all, but there are some theories. Most people have nightmares more near the early morning because nightmares typically occur during REM, rapid eye movement, sleep. Periods of REM sleep get longer as the night goes by, therefore there is a larger chance of getting a nightmare later on during sleep. Nightmares manifest themselves when the user is going through emotional problems, is taking drugs, or is coping with some kind of tragedy.
Why do we hate math so much? It is not very common for people to say that they are bad at reading or writing. We hate math so much that we are passing it on to the children of this generation. It will get worse in every new generation. Children are becoming scared of mathematics. It is also making them have anxiety. Some don’t even want to work out things anymore because it is too hard already.
Social justice is the fair and proper law that shows everybody is equal regardless of their color, race, gender, religion, etc. The thought of executing another human being is completely harsh! My whole life I have been thought that killing is wrong and that no human being has the right to kill another induvial. To my surprise, it’s what’s happening in our society every day. Giving the death penalty, has no justification. It’s another crime being committed, but this time by the government. The death penalty is usually given to a person that’s found guilty of a capital crime. However, it’s not easy to consider the death penalty as an easy way to punish the guilty. Though many people believe that the death penalty is the right way to punish people that has done hideous crimes, it’s possible to kill an innocent person, citizens pay million for the death penalty, and people of color are more likely to be given capital punishment. The death penalty is a violation of human rights and it should be abolished.
