Have you ever woken up one morning and asked yourself, “What am I doing with my life?” This happened to me one day, and I quickly realized I have lost sight of my goals. Goals help you set a road map for your life, to accomplish things that are special to you and will help you move through life. They can be as simple as: wanting to improve your car, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, or on the long term end: wanting to graduate college with a degree in accounting. My first goal, would be to improve my “clunker car,” which is something I have always owned my entire life. A “clunker car” is usually an older model car that is not in the best condition. Instead of getting a brand new car, which is expensive, it is cheaper just to fix the little problems in the car. Which can be made up into smaller goals because they are easier to achieve one at a time. For example, right now there are no sun visors in my car because the ones I currently have will not stay in the upright position, instead they move around and will not stay still. Replacing my old sun visors with new ones would be extremely helpful on those hot sunny summer days to block the sun and they will stay in their place when you don’t need to use them. Secondly, there is a cassette radio player in my car. Cassettes are very hard to find nowadays, everything is on cds or you can stream music with your cell phone and play it through the car speakers. To be able to have a cd player would mean no longer to have to fast
Setting goals are the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goals you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and you would have trouble finding a career that will provide for you. When planning for success you must make good choices on the path you are going to choose. The wrong path will put you somewhere that is going to take you off track of your goals. For example, it can lead you to get lazy, partying too much and skipping school. You must stay on top of schoolwork and not fall behind. Now that you understand what a goal is, you might be wondering what the different types of goals
At the end of my senior year of high school, I had to make a senior portfolio; part of the project was to write down your goals and make a timetable for where you see yourself in five or ten years. I wrote that my goal in life is to be happy and I skipped the timetable because if my goal is to be happy then I can’t plan out how to obtain that goal. Who knows what will make me happy in five years? Life is constantly changing; nothing actually stays the same. It is important to set goals for yourself, but my idea of goals is different. I want to be happy and my goal is to take whatever smaller steps are necessary to get there.
Life goals are something to cling on and can be defined as end goals of our life. Without it we are living a life without any clear direction or focus. As per what Earl Nightingale said, “People with goals succeed because they know where they are going… It’s as simple as that.”
A one goal that I have set for myself is to keep moving forward into my careers. By moving more into a career will help me achieve better financial issues, less depression, better opportunities, better choices, and a better attitude toward life. Another goal
Create a list of goals you want to achieve in your life or moments you want to experience. Consider all aspects of your life from the wellness wheel above. The purpose of this activity is to let go of the grips food has on your decisions and allow yourself to move freely through life with a sense of purpose (let go of the timeline and any minute details) let your imagination run wild and create intentions that you would like to move
Goals we all have them big or small, we each have something we want to accomplish, but the big question always is, how do we accomplish it. Well for me, I have goals in life daily and longer term. Daily goals would be like finish psychology paper or make it to the gym sometime today. My more long terms goals relate specifically to my college degree, such as complete college in four years, get into a good
A long-term personal goal that I have always had for myself is to graduate high school with my academic honors and technical honors diplomas, to get it I had to work my butt off. I had always studied for every test, made sure to at least receive a B or higher on any assignment. The hard work has paid off now because that is the path that I am on now to receiving a diploma. I had a lot of barriers though, like probation and family losses, but I made sure just to focus on me and know that life always goes on and I should
My long-term goal with my college education is to complete my Bachelor's degree and eventually continue on to receive my Master’s degree in criminal justice. The first step to complete my long-term goal is receiving my Associate’s degree in criminal justice by May 2017. This goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
Goal setting has always been an important factor in my life, because of that I have accomplished things that I am very proud of. Without goals it would make it very hard to succeed in life because there is nothing to work hard for. Goal setting is a constant reminder of the things that are important to you. It gives me the motivation to work hard every day so that I can achieve my goals. Goals are what keeps each of us different. Throughout my life, I hope to continue to set goals.

In high school, I never imagined attending the nation's number one public research institution. It was something that no one from my community had done, and the lack of representation from others in my community seemed to disencourage me from even applying. It was not until my senior year of high school that I began applying to colleges, when my older sister encouraged me to apply to the University of Michigan. She saw potential in the things that I could accomplish, but even her encouragement lacked to make me understand how I could be admitted into this predominately white institution. However, I applied early action and was ecstatic when I was accepted.
The future is a time or a period of time in which we follow through from the moment of speaking or writing our intentions. It is a time that has yet still to come. The future is what we work for, to go through school and have a career, in order to have a better life. My parents have taught me to work hard for the things I want, and I wish to have a bright future. That is one of the reasons why I am here at CI, to get an education that will help me find a career with sufficient salary that will support me and my future family.
