The National Wildlife Federation, or NWF, can be accessed for in depth information via their interest group website at www.nwf.org. Selection of the National Wildlife Federation, for myself, was brought forth by my affinity for the outdoors and nature in general. Growing up enjoying activities such as canoeing, camping, fishing, hiking and boating has allowed myself to gain a respect for the vastness of our nations wild beauty. Along with this respect comes the aspiration to pass the joy of the outdoors along to my children and thus I feel diving into the NWF will prove to be beneficial to our family. Having no prior knowledge of this organization, I am very much excited about the task of deciphering this entity.
Goals:
For the National Wildlife Federation, their objective is formed around the ideal that our nations natural habitats and wildlife, along with clean air and water are all things that all Americans have a right to access. Through conservation efforts the NWF feels the government, along with the nations citizens, have a duty to conserve and protect our natural resources for current and future generations. Further in depth information surrounding the goals of the NWF can be

Does the group identify upcoming actions or events that will be important to the group? Are members asked to do anything in the near future? What are the group's priorities? Do they have a legislative agenda? Are there current bills in Congress connected to the group's interests? Is there any action at a state rather than federal level? Be specific in your responses The National Wildlife Federation calls attention to their concerns via their “Take Action” section of their website. Within the “Take Action” portion, the NWF, assists individuals in sending messages to their Senators and Representatives to voice their support of or their opposition of current directives at policy change effecting the
Murder and abuse cases never fail to startle society. Moral codes are flouted with unmatched rigorousness by these indubitable egregious crimes. Sufferers in these cases are often people. Nonetheless, these callous obscenities should not be seen as less important when animals are the victims. Animals undergo horrendous abuse due to barbaric individuals, greed, and unnecessary lab testing.
National parks play an essential role in this country. Not only do they preserve land areas, but they also preserve bodies of water that need to be protected. The amount of drinkable water left in the world is dwindling at an alarming rate, and with the help of The National Parks Service, that rate can be slowed down. Protecting these lands and bodies of water also protects the habitats of animals living in these areas. One article, “A Monumental Fight”, written by Katy Steinmetz, discusses the fight that former President Obama made to increase these areas and protect the wildlife living in them, “In waters around Hawaii, Obama quadrupled the size of Papahanaumokuakea...
A gathering of individuals that tries to impact open strategy on the premise of a specific regular intrigue or concern called interest group. When people get disturbance, they are more likely going to create new form of interest group. We also did the same thing when our college increased our tuition cost. We have created the group which we call National Organization of Collegiate American Students Needing Help (NOCASH). Our motive was to persuade the congress, college administration or board of the college member to reduce our tuition cost, so we can easily afford our tuition fee. We understand we do have a lot of obstacles to achieve this goal, especially when we are grass root interest group. We know we cannot hire special lobbyist to lobby
The American Wilderness Coalition is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1935 by a group of environmentalists. It is also known as The Wilderness Society. The coalition’s goal is to “Support the efforts of wilderness advocates and organizations nationwide that are working to protect America’s last remaining wild places. As of 2014 this group had more than 500,000 members and supporters.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has a mission to preserve, conserve, manage, protect, and enhance the fish and wildlife of the state along with their habitats for the use, benefit, and enjoyment of the citizens of Tennessee and its visitors. This is a daunting task considering the varied interests of Tennessee’s sportsmen and women and the limited amount of funding available to support important programs and initiatives. The TWRA was established in 1949 and was called the Game and Fish Commission. It was completely reorganized in 1974, and it now consists of more than 600 professionals dedicated to the preservation, conservation, and enhancement of Tennessee's fish and wildlife. The TWRA is an independent state agency with the job of

Growing up in a family who enjoys the outdoors, national parks and forests have been a staple for travel and outdoor leisure. This can hold true for anyone seeking to enjoy outdoor fun. The National Parks Service provides services that are dedicated to preserving and maintaining forests, public land, and natural beauties. Conservation of forests began in 1876, yet a department was never officially founded until 1905. The National Parks Service was then created in 1916.

The National Endangered Species Act Reform Coalition is questioning the effectiveness of the Act, as well as its impact on people. Pointing to the poor progress of removing species from the Endangered and Threatened lists, the group calls on reform of the Act, to reform the methods for determining eligibility for listing, opening the listing and regulatory processes of the Act to include participation from all groups affected by the legislation, and providing more incentives for private citizens and businesses to pro-actively participate in conservation of listed species.
In 2016, the National Park Service (NPS) celebrated 100 years of preservation and conservation of our nation’s parks, monuments, and historical sites. Currently, the federal government has proposed significant proposed budget cuts to the National Park Service. If the government makes these cuts, then Americans could lose the national parks along with the beauty, culture, and history that comes with them. This would happen because the NPS would lose most of its funding that is needed in order to keep the national parks wellpreserved. Investing in the NPS should be a priority in our nation because it provides educational programs, unites all ages and races, and preserves and conserves the national parks.
Heclo describes these groups as varied and operating on many different levels. We may have a small group that is very vocal and show up at meetings but do not reflect the majority of people. We may have a professor or expert who is called by legislators for advice or to clarify some part of policy. Also, people are more involved and well read on issues and understand the issues more completely. There are a few problems with this way of doing things and we can look at the “Reinventing School Lunch” policy to see how this system can be effective and also cause some delays and problems.
For decades the iconic wild mustangs of the American West had roamed free across millions of acres of open rangeland. Their population flourished so much that in the 19th century their numbers reached over 2 million. However, during World War I, more than 1 million were admitted for battle, which left the rest to be hunted for meat, abused for sport and collected as an ingredient in dog and cat food. When wild mustangs officially received protection through the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, it was estimated that only 17,000 wild mustangs were left on the American plains (1). The agency tasked with the protection and management of the wild mustangs is the Bureau of Land Management. It is the BLM’s mission to establish and
Hunting and hunters are the biggest advocates for conservation. They also provide for the most finical aid of any other organization that says they sponsor the environment and wildlife. (SDGFP)(2). Such organizations are PETA and SEIRRA. These clubs think they help the animals and the environment because they do not kill them, but they actually do more damage. Their goal is to save the animals and keep the woods from being touched. They hardly give any money to the conservation groups. The reason the ecosystems have to use conservation is because we have to much human interaction with the environment, as Roger Holmes touches on in his article. Like in small communities there is a lot more wildlife human interaction because the expanding nation. The PETA and SEIRRA clubs have also done nothing for the growth of the animal populations. The hunters have given new life to many species such as; White-Tailed Deer, Canadian goose, Rocky Mountain Elk, Wild Turkey, Pronghorn Antelope, and many others.
The World Wide Fund for Nature or WWF for short has worked at reducing our carbon footprint for over 45 years. Even since 1985, the World Wildlife Fund Network has invested over $1.165 billion in more than 11,000 projects. According to the WWF website, their mission is to conserve nature which they are actively doing in 100 countries with 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. There are several ways that everyone can do their part in supporting WWF. Supporters can donate money, adopt a species, or take action and directly help conserve our environment. I am going to discuss WWF’s cause and importance, how they are working to conserve nature, and how all of you can help support the cause.
The first national park, Yellow Stone National Park, was established in 1872 by Ulysses S. Grant (Brown). This was one of the last explored areas in the west. This establishing of a national park led to more wildlife conservation national movements. In 1887 President Roosevelt gathered a group of influential American hunters in New York to form the Boome and Crockett Club with a mission of preserving big game in North America (Brown). In the 1930’s management of wildlife resources began in earnest. Funds were mostly provided by levies on hunters (Brown). The 1930s were also the beginning of wildlife research in the United States. The leader of this effort was Aldo Leopold (Brown).
