Have you ever heard of the greek goddess Nemesis? Nemesis was the Greek God of revenge and retribution. She would come down on all the people who succumbed to Hubris, or arrogance against the gods. One story of her work is when she lured Narcissus to a pool where he fell in love with the reflection of himself and he soon died. She didn't like when people had to much goodness in there life. She cursed the ones with countless gifts.
Nemesis was the daughter of Nyx and many reports say she didn't have a father. Other reports say she was the daughter of Zeus who was also her baby daddy. Her attributes were a sword, lash, and a balance. Her name came from the Greek words nemêsis and nemô meaning “despencer of dues”. Happiness and unhappiness were measured out by her. She made sure that no one had to much happiness at one time though.
Some stories say she gave birth to two sets of twins, Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra and Castor and Pollux. Other sites say she only hatched Helen of Troy and Telchines. …show more content…

Some stories say she was born from Nemesis turning into a goose to fly away from Zeus who turned into a swan and raped her. Helen was the one that hatched out of the egg. The egg was found and given to Leda who was a princess and became a Spartan Queen. Helen of Troy or Helen of Sparta was believed to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She was married to King Menelaus of Sparta but she ran away with prince Paris of Troy and that started the Trojan war. Some stories were told that she was overcome with guilt and wanted to go back to King Menelaus and stop all the fighting, Other stories tell how she wanted to stay with Paris and wanted Menelaus
