To be quite frank, I was never fond of cats. Nor do I like the color purple. However, these things have no impact on my wish to attend Northwestern. First, Northwestern provides an “Ivy League” quality education while maintaining Midwestern values for those who appreciate them, like me. Despite its size, Northwestern offers a broad range of study, making everyone’s dreams become a reality. Broadway’s next biggest star and Google’s future CEO can be seen wandering the beautiful lake-shore campus. In addition, Northwestern takes pride in its diversity. Each student has a passion, and for me, it would have to be mathematics and chemistry hence I’m applying to McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. Mathematics is the foundation for
Pennies should not be made anymore. The penny costs more to make then they are worth. It’s not worth carrying around, it’s to bulky. The penny could round prices down.
Christopher McCandless age twenty-two embarks on his greatest journey that will forever make him famous in his journey and death. There is the argument that Christopher was psychotic for going out into the Alaskan Wild so unprepared without any proper tools or materials. Also, Christopher should have told his parents where he was going so they would’ve known where to look for their son so he could be safer and might of had the chance to survive. What you have to understand that, Chris McCandless approached it the way he wanted to approached it because some say he is narcissistic and only does what he wants and it's true, he is but that isn't negative it's what he wants, and shouldn't we all be able to feel free to do whatever we wish. As the reader, you can pick the side you agree with and have your opinion on Chris. Christopher McCandless wasn't crazy or psychotic, but instead a true example of a person who did whatever he wanted to be filled with joy.
It is clear Ryerson University needs a better way to make education accessible to all their students. With the constant delays of the transit systems we have, and the rising costs to commute, students are skipping lectures. The best solution to this problem is starting VR enabled lectures. This will keep expenses low for students and save time that students struggle to find. VR enabled lectures are far superior to the alternative, which is living on campus. By living on campus expenses increase and you’re not in the comfort of your home. Also it is not guaranteed you will get approved to live on residence because of the limited beds available. Being a computer science students we already have the necessary knowledge to make this possible, as
UCM: CPSW received a call from Ms. Messerli reporting that she needs the lock number for her storage from foster provider family. She also stated that she needs the boy's cell phone back. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli that this writer will ask the foster provider about the phone and storage numbers. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli to focus on her recovery and not to disrupt her children as well as the foster provider and if she needs anyting to let the CPSW aware of it. Also, CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli not to contact or call both children until the theripist approves it. Ms. Messerli stated that she will try. Howerver, Ms Messerli sounded unhappy and really upset about not contacting her children Nick and Alexander.
The GatesburgGoGreen Initiative is an absolutely horrible idea in my opinion. The citizens of Gatesburg already recycle, why take things to the extreme? The thought of increased taxes, criminalization, fines, and utter invasion of privacy over trash is revolting.
SNC briefed all required sections of the five paragraph order; however, throughout his brief SNC seemed hesitant and paused a few times. SNC spoke in a steady voice and his brief was thorough; however, his brief was long, unhurried and it seemed that SNC could not communicate his ideas clearly to his team, causing his brief to take up majority of his mission. SNC did not communicate a well detailed plan on how they were going to accomplish the mission; rather he just restated that they needed to get across the broken bridge and in the order they were going to go in. Due to his initial slow tempo, SNC and his team did not move with a sense of urgency during the execution their mission. Just like he briefed his order, SNC kept a steady but
Many schools don't have enough funds to support themselves; therefore they should use their money to fix buildings and to buy new textbooks. According to Amanda Ripley’s article, “It's Time To Scale Back,” maintaining a grass field can cost more than 20,000 dollars (11). Premont Independent School was threaten to close because of money issues so they had to stop the sports teams and by doing this they were able to save 150,000 dollars (10). Schools should stop using their money on sports and start using it on the school. In conclusion schools should save their money for more important things. Although saving money is important, allowing kids to study for a longer time is also crucial for their education. Ripley stated in her article that by
Hunting is considered one of America’s most famous and traditional past times. Fathers around the nation, with high hopes of teaching their children the ropes, are constantly threatened by the chances of hunting being exterminated. For the average person, this problem isn’t established by the threatening blows made on our constitutional amendments; instead, the main threat for your average hunter revolves around finding areas to carry out this tradition. Unfortunately, this problem could very-well be the terminal endpoint of fathers observing their children harvest their first big game animal. As an advocate for hunting and any sport revolving around the great outdoors, I constantly sweat over the thought of one day finding myself unable to pursue a passion that I love, strictly because finding areas to hunt on is nearly impossible because of other people’s actions.
The Misfit lived up to the name in which he was called. He believed that society made him the way he was, and they where responsible for his actions. When speaking, the Misfit appears as a well-spoken and polite person. Even when Bailey disrespects his mother, “the Misfit reddened. ‘Lady,’ he said, don’t you get upset. Sometimes a man says things he don’t mean. I don’t reckon he meant to talk to you thataway” (O’Connor 359). That statement shows that the misfit indeed had a decent side to him. The misfit goes on about his up bringing from a child to his current status and personal life, which he also believes helped shaped his demeanor. When the Grandmother suggested that he must have come from fine people, he simply replied, “Finest people
Over the course of history, many things have changed, but in recent times, in America one thing sticks out. Our countries American identity has been transformed over the past century. When our country was involved in wars and conflict, the citizens of this nation had a sort of, unity. A bond pulling them together, a common enemy. Recently, even with terrorist attacks threatening our country, millennials like myself fail to see the threat and danger of the world. We fight amongst ourselves.
The day all high school seniors have been longing for: graduation. After dealing with all the trials and tribulations of high school, these graduates proceed with their lives. Many paths will open up for these young people as they begin taking the steps to integrate themselves into society. Many will start working straight out of high school. Some may go to a trade school and pick up work after.
I believe we should always be optimistic when regarding the future of American education. Yet, as we continue to grow further apart as a nation, it will have a negative effect on education. We are not safe, and for many students there is no security, so when you are fighting to survive, education is pushed further away. We already know that the family, the home and the neighborhood affect a student's cognitive abilities, so what's next?

During these stressful political times, our youth is undergoing considerable pressure to participate in the government. Education systems and the government itself, want to increase the number of voters, but they fail to provide young people what they need to effectively do so. The young people in America are a growing portion of the population, but they do not know enough to be active members of society. And students, vote less than the young people, also known as millennials, who are out of college. One would imagine that, while being in a college or university, students would learn the importance and values of government participation, but that is not the case. As big of a role many students play in education and society, the education they receive is not effectively preparing them to be active members of society. Young people are, as said by Bill Coplin, our “citizens-in-training”.
It is often assumed that failure is a deterrent to achievement. Rather, failure should be seen as a motivator for a person to keep trying until the objective or aim of a particular mission is fulfilled.
