Chapter 1 – Review Questions
1. What factors have the biggest Impact on IT project?
IT projects are influenced by various factors that ultimately cause a project to either reach successful completion or face heavy challenges. Planning is one of the key factors among these. Good planning comprises of determining project objectives, documenting those objectives, allocation of clear responsibility and accountability of various tasks, creating schedule by taking into account scope and budget specifications and continuous revision to the plan based on evaluation. Additionally, maintaining control over schedule, scope and budget, is another factor that plays an important role. Certain factors like organizational changes, technological changes etc also have a big impact on IT projects.
2. What are the key characteristics that describe a project?
The key characteristics that describe a project are:
1. A project is temporary
A project must have a beginning and an end. A project reaches its end when either, objectives of the project have been reached, it has been established that the project’s objectives cannot or will not be reached, or the project is no longer needed and is

Stages are groups of activities that can be performed in series or parallel. Stage gates are structured decision points at the end of each state. They are needed between phases in order to make a decision of whether the project should continue with original objectives, should be terminated or should continue with revised objectives. The purpose of stage gates is also to allow sponsors to identify any failures and help in taking decisions for better utilization of resources. Stage gates make way for a standard and structured decision making process. However, good project management also suggests that too many gates can lead to excessive time getting spent on preparing gate reviews as opposed to actually managing the

The facial expression of Sam Houston depicts a man who does not seem to need the approval of others, and the fact that he does not appear to be looking at the camera indicates that he feels superior to others.
Cigarette smoke when inhaled and exhaled release toxic particles and vapors. When the cigarette smoke enters the nose, to the nasal cavity, paranasal sinus, into the larnyx, esophagus and onward through the body. I want to stop and go back to the beginning of smoke entry. The nose contains external nears or cilia. These cilia try to capture as much of these toxic particles and push them back towards the outside of the nose. Then these toxic particles move through the nasal cavity, up and around the paranasal sinuses, which contains the frontal, esthmoid, maxillary and sphenoid sinus. Let me explain a few fundamentals. The cilia, nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses help filter, warm and moisten the air you breath,
As part of the requirement gathering process, the team will interview some of the stakeholders, executives, and other employees of the hospital. In addition to interviewing, questionnaires would be handed out to the rest of the workers to find out what their needs are. After the interviews and questionnaires are completed, all of the requirements gathered will be reviewed by the team to decide which requirements are the most important ones that the software product is going to meet and in what type of device the software product is going to run. Since the software is going to be used in a hospital, the best devices to use are desktop computers and laptops.
Describe the data communication types used historically and the developments that have led to modern day Local Area Networks (LANs). Detail any emerging technologies and where you think data communications are likely to be in ten years’ time.
Busy waiting is a technique in which a process repeatedly checks to see if a condition is true without getting the processor time. While a process is in its critical section, any other process that tries to enter its critical section must loop continuously to get the critical section. This will make the process eat CPU (usually). That is just busy for waiting the processor time.
If this includes water management, “Clever Irrigation” is a system that was used in the Court of the Oranges at Cordoba. “Water released from a central course was directed into stone-lined channels for irrigation. Each tree was flooded in sequence by repositioning wood blocks.
In the seven layers of the OSI, control is passed between layers. The model is theoretical, but tells us how a network takes the data sent from the application all the way down to the physical layer and out, to in the physical layer and back up all the way to the application layer. This Model has nothing to do with the actual functions of the process. Instead it is a concept of the framework, so the complexities of a network can be broken down and understood (Beal, 1999).
As a consultant to Target retail group I would recommend dashboards to be introduced in the business.Dashboard technology is helping industries move in a new world by converting real time data into visually impactful, interactive platforms. There are several factors that determine the management’s decision for using dashboard systems which serves as a useful tool to remain competitive in any industry.
In the interpretation from the ST to the TT there is fluctuating level of exoticism and calque and also social transplantation. A case of this is in the main passage where the TT utilized "God", yet then in the following sentence utilizes "Allah". Allah is not an English word, but rather a social transplantation from Arabic. Another illustration is the point at which they gave more setting to "Ya Allah" however including the clarification of "getting out woefully". This give the peruse of the TT a clarification with regards to the activity being minded out in the ST. The intentions in minding out a different type of interpreting is so that the ST TT still can have a similar impact. That way the peruse of the TT who could conceivably have a social comprehension of the first ST have a superior comprehension of the activity, which means, or profundity of the content in its unique stature. In interpretation of writings a primary part is to decipher not recently each word, but rather the foundation of each word in a way that significance has not been lost
So, if we take the last input data, from the example above, and split it on “m” then we would have 4 elements: {5 4}{2}{10}{9}{50 41}. If we consider the first to be the point (previous cluster center), the second to be the weight (number
= (2t + 2h – t 2 – 2th – h 2 – 2t + t 2 ) = //2t – 2t = 0; t2– t2 =0
Evaluation of the IT Project Approval Process shows a complicated process along with a minimum of five levels of approval to reach the Project Management Team. These additional levels of approval and discussion would add time and cost to the approval process. This current approval process also allows a diversion of the intended plan with each interpretation of the project plan as it moves thru those levels, allowing emotion about a project push it thru the process when it should not.
Understanding the project lifecycle is important because it is the base of all project management. You take one phase out and the project will fail. You cannot start a project without a good scope, or blueprint. The project lifecycle is set up so that you cannot move on to the next stage in the cycle without going through the previous stage. I also want to mention the termination phase. This is where you terminate the project and put together a document that explains the delays and fixes that helped the project come to fruition.
Planning: define the scope of the project, potential risks, activities that will occur, deliverables at completion, and parameters for timeline, cost, resources needed, and quality required; assign responsibility for project tasks and activities; gain final approval for project
