Utilizing the knowledge and skills that I garner at the University of Pittsburgh I will demonstrate safe evidence-based interventions and continue to foster an understanding of modern anesthetics. After having gained experience I plan to become involved with teaching nursing students lending support to fellow nurses to achieve their dreams just as others did for me. The work of an anesthesiologist is fulfilling with many benefits. A person would desire to become an anesthesiologist because there is a high standard of excellence due to a low percentage of doctors in this special field, not to mention the high salary. This occupation benefits the doctor through a feeling of personal gratification while receiving a great education. The community benefits through his or her help relieving the pain accompanied by surgery. Becoming an anesthesiologist involves extensive education and training, while also having many requirements and a good salary range.

Certified registered nurse anesthetists are advanced nurses who provide anesthetics for surgery and trauma. Many people wonder the difference between nurse anesthetist and anesthesiologist. A CRNA is a registered nurse who specialize in anesthesiology with at least one year of critical experience. Anesthesiologists are physicians and they have to complete a one-year internship, three year residency to become certified. A CRNA can administer all kinds of anesthetic work in any place of practice for any operation procedure. CRNAs provide anesthetics to patients, surgeons, anesthesiologists, dentists, podiatrists and other health professionals.
