Hello! I am so sorry for not writing sooner. As of right now, I am working as a nurse in a makeshift hospital for the soldiers. The experience is extremely interesting. I have learned so many life lessons and I am now much more appreciative of my surroundings. I always hear stories from the soldiers telling me of their time in battle. The reality of the war is worse than anyone would expect. It is extremely heartbreaking. I hope you and the rest of the family will keep all of the soldiers in your prayers, as I will. They really need motivation and encouragement to help them overcome the obstacles of life in battle. One soldier told me about his experience of watching his best friend die. As he spoke, tears welled up in his eyes and it was hard
Most people don’t know how it feels to lose a family member that had done service, my Grandfather had died when I was in Third Grade which was in 2011. He was a veteran of the Cold War. His cause of death was cancer. The doctors said he wasn’t going to survive. The sad part is that he died just basically a week before his 70th birthday.

Being in war is definitely one of the most life changing events a person will ever have whether it be for the better or for the worst. Soldiers will witness events that are impossible to forget or see back at home in the states. Some soldiers may have even seen one of their best friends that they’ve known for forever get blown up into pieces right next to them, or they might even get one of their own limbs blown off of their own bodies, becoming handicapped for life. As a result of seeing something so intense like that, most soldiers are usually traumatized. In matter of fact, a great amount of soldiers are traumatized from the very beginning of being in war. It’s without a doubt difficult to deal with this but there are some ways where
Do you want to help save a life in the medical field but not do all the dirty work? Well being a nurse anesthetist is the perfect job for you. You get to be involved with the surgery and you don't need to even touch the insides of another person. Betty Horton, a experienced CRNA, says “Beings a nurse anesthetist is the best job you could ever have. It started my life off and made other things in my life accomplishable.” There are 170,400 jobs available to become a nurse anesthetist. That means there is 170,400 opportunities to help save someone's life. I believe that college is important in order to become a successful nurse anesthetist.
Nursing theorist, Hildegard Peplau knew that in order to care for patients, the nurse must establish a strong relationship with the patient. This is an essential element in being able to provide adequate planning, diagnosing, and successfully treating patients. Personally, my desire to learn more about Peplau’s theory is because it is a very significant quality to have as a nurse. Nursing is a very interpersonal career, and by forming trusting relationships with patients early in one’s nursing practice, I can provide the best care possible to meet psychosocial needs as well as treat the present illness. The benefits that creating interpersonal relationships can have on the patients’ health condition and their planned outcomes, is also a very interesting area of focus. Many nursing students today did not understand the importance of Peplau’s theory. They choose a career in nursing because of the finical stability and wide range of options that the career offers. Overall, one cannot forget that nursing is patient centered care.
TRAUMA By C.I. Lopez "Page the trauma surgeon." I said to Susan, “and call the supervisor, to let her know we're probably getting multiple burn victims, please." As the head trauma nurse in charge of the Emergency Room, at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Tampa, Florida, I was used to nights like this, especially when the rain was blinding at rush hour, and people were rushing to get home from work on a Friday night. For ten years I had worked the trauma unit, and I had seen it all.
Throughout the years my siblings and I have been in many different performances, whether for dance, tumbling, or acting. Now, with all these performances there have been at least a few mishaps. One particular incident I remember quite well happened when I was playing the role of Jo March in the play Little Women.
Today, my kismet, had other plans. A knock on the door resounded, followed by a heaving breath, the twisting of the doorknob, and a bang as the door shut. My eyes widened when instead of a nurse, an unfamiliar face burst into my room and my reality. Two tantalizing grey eyes peered into my own, a wild mix of fury and contention battling to surface. The latter claimed the victory. Opening a green folder, the boy steered his gaze on a stack of papers. He flipped through them until an aqua colored paper stood out to him, and ripped it from the folder. His eyes scanned the paper until he read something that turned his nonchalant expression,

Fatigue is defined as a feeling of tiredness or exhaustion or a need to rest because of lack of energy or strength. Fatigue in nurses directly affects the quality of care that the nurse gives to a patient. Nurse fatigue can be described as fatigue affecting the nurse population that may result from the following contributing factors: working long shifts in the healthcare workplace; obtaining insufficient sleep between scheduled shifts; a disturbance in circadian rhythms; and attempting to balance demanding personal, familial, and social obligations in addition to the work schedule. This article explains the implications of nursing fatigue.

Working with wounded soldiers that continued the fight for their life was something that has shaped me into the nurse I am. This solidified my desire to become a nurse and continues to drive me to further my education. I finished my first degree online, separated from the military after eight years and with the help of my husband I accomplished my goal of becoming a registered nurse. Through my experiences as a pediatric oncology nurse, I have combined my love of serving and advocating for patients and families
Losing loved ones is a miserable feelingmiserabledespairing feeling and changes a person, knowing that they never got to see them for the last time. Not knowing what they are waiting for at home anymore only that they served their country happily. People wait for their loved ones to come back home. Its intimidated for the soldiers and for the loved ones at home, they are are petrified to lose their precious child or their love. Now they are just sitting at home waiting for no one. Instead of waiting they have to learn to move on. Never to forget, but to move on and learn to do other things. Soldiers all around were friending each other and getting to know one another, but sometimes did not get to chance to see each
We went back to FOB McHenry after the Medevac arrived. We never caught up with the rest of the elements, so we were never even a part of the main effort. My vehicle had to be towed to the FOB, so we received a ride from another platoon. Once we got back there my Senior Scout took me to go look at my vehicle in the maintenance bay. There was a hole exactly where the TC seat was. The pieces started to come together. I couldn’t push through the kill zone because the battery box is under the TC seat, so with the battery gone, we weren’t going anywhere. We had never been blown up on a dirt road, it has always been on a main route, and it usually came from the side of the road, never underneath. This was a game changer for us.
How the Nurse Feels is a story of a teenage girl named Tess Powell, who during the course of the story goes through some profound changes. Tess plays the role of the Nurse in her school’s current production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” But Tess has a rather bothersome problem. She is not able to play her role correctly, because of a failure in fully understanding and thereby expressing the emotions felt by the character. During the story she gets a crush on a boy, who has a small role in the play. Tiger De Soto, whom she barely knows, is the troublemaker, and he is a contrast to Tess, who is the well-behaved daughter of a reverend.
