Throughout these past two years I have been working as a Substitute teacher for Prince Georges County Public School. Being a substitute has its good, bad and even worse days. But overall I have to keep in mind to not allow the students get to me or change my character or attitude. In all reality I really do not enjoy being in the school system. I love nursing and have a passion for nursing. I love caring for sick people whether it’s the infants, toddlers, adolescents, adults or even geriatrics. Nursing will always and forever will be my baby, passion and dream career.
I chose Coppin State University because it is one of the best schools in Maryland that is known for their nursing program. Previous students that I’ve talked to have raved about your program. The professors have high ratings and are very helpful in making sure their students are successful in their classes. This information has intrigued me even more to apply to your program. After I complete your BSN program in December of 2019 at Coppin State University and successfully passing the NCLEX on the first attempt I will work for a year in the hospital. Then, I will go back to school and obtain a Master’s of Science in

Throughout high school and college I did not work because my main focus were my studies and having good grades. Upon completion of my studies and graduating from Bowie State University in May 2014 I began working at Dupont Park Adventist School in August as a teacher’s aid in the kindergarten room for two years. Currently, I am a Substitute teacher for Prince Georges County Public School System. Being a substitute teacher has taught me to be patient and to look at students’ in a different way rather than just saying that they are all bad. All these students’ come from different cultures and backgrounds, some come from a broken home and some of their parents don’t show them love at
Born in the then small town of Auburn, Alabama. I was the youngest of two children to Annie and Jesse Reese. Raised in a middle-class family, my parents were both respective social workers in the Lee and Montgomery county area. I speculate that my desire to help others was ultimately inbred in me by my parents as they devoted their lives on a daily basis to improve the lives of others. As I became older, I knew that I wanted to serve others, but it took some time to establish how. I juggled between numerous careers: teacher, lawyer, doctor, however; in my senior year of high school, I discovered where my true passion lied, nursing.
“Definition of a nurse: To go above and beyond the call of duty. The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring. A unique soul who will pass through your life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. An empowered individual whom you may meet only for a 12-hour period, but who will put you and yours above theirs”-Anonymous. For the past year and a half, I have volunteered at Blaire E. Batson Children’s Hospital. It has been an amazing experience! My passion for the medical field and career of nursing has been magnified. I know without a doubt that nursing is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I long for the opportunity to care for my future patients and their families. I want to touch other people’s lives just as I have witnessed nurses do throughout my time volunteering. God has given me a passion for nursing. With my passion and compassion for others, I know I will be successful if admitted into the BSN program.
In the corner of the small hospital room stood a shy little girl. “You shouldn't be in here, honey”, my mother said as she nudged me out of the room where my grandfather lay dying. At the time, I couldn't understand the enormity of the situation. Ignorant to what was happening around me, my innocent mind fled with curiosity. The beeping of the machines and the soft quick steps of nurses captivated my attention. I was fascinated with this strange new world. This is the moment that sparked my desire to become someone great; a nurse.
I wish to be considered for the Los Angeles City College Registered Nursing Program, because I believe that this program will provide me with the techniques and knowledge to excel in patient care and become a successful nurse. I always knew that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives; after taking a few perquisites for nursing, I found that the science aspect of it piqued my interest. Studying about the functions of the human body, and how the environment, medicine, and genetics affect homeostasis, caused me to develop a passion for nursing. Therefore, I exposed myself to the hospital environment by volunteering in the ICU at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. My experience in the ICU was motivational and inspiring. I loved walking
May I express my keen interest to apply for a job in your institution as a Registered Nurse Division 1. I have heard a lot of positive things about Alfred Health specifically Caulfield Hospital, which is one of the leading rehabilitative facilities here in Victoria. I spent my clinical placement there in the Sub-acute Aged Care Unit (Ch-12 ACG) in Alfred Health (Caulfield) for four weeks and the learning experience by far has been awesome and inspiring. I have a great passion in both geriatric and rehabilitative nursing and I am convinced that Caulfield Hospital would be the best place to sharpen my knowledge, attitude and skills as a nurse in the given fields.
As nurses we all bring our own values and beliefs to the job whether or not we intend to, it happens. I place large amounts of value on family and friends. These are the people you can call on for support. I know that without the support of my mom helping me with my kids and my house work there is no way I could be in the nursing program. Family is often a place when as children we learn and develop our values and beliefs. Giving this deeper thought I can see how this is true for myself. When working with B I would often think about what it would be like to be raised in an unstable environment by a mother who struggles with mental health and addictions. B was often placed in respite foster homes. I found myself thinking about what it would be like to sit down to meal with a strange family how awkward would he have felt. Building on this making connections with people is very important to me. Once I was able to build a connection with B I was able to work with him in a more cohesive way. Making that convection helps to build trust, positive relationships are built on trust. Being a good listener is a skill that I value as a nurse. Not only do I value being a good listener but I also value being heard. I value you a person 's ability to do what they say they are going to do. If you tell a patient that you will return to check in with them in 30 minutes than you need to be sure that you keep your word. When working with clients it is import to me to build on
Why do you want to pursue a graduate degree in your chosen field of study and why do you want to pursue a graduate degree at Clemson University?
Nurses are the epitome of Cura Personalis. There are an abundance of careers to positively influence the lives of others, but few career paths endeavor to truly serve all people. Nurses respond to health care needs of people considering spiritual, health, socio-cultural, economic status and the evolving practice of nursing to provide and advocate for these individuals. Nurses have an innate ability to learn about the individuals they serve and they care for people rather than “clients,” “patients,” or “customers.” My motivation to pursue a career in the discipline of nursing is because I envision myself helping people through their most vulnerable moments.
Several themes have emerged throughout my life, which I believe make nursing the only career choice for me. This include development of a love for science, passion for helping others reach their full potential, love for caring for people when they are in need, and passion for working in the most diverse of fields. Even at a young age I was drawn to nursing, due to the science of it. I recall working in a laboratory class where the instructor asked us to come up with our own laboratory. I struggled to find the exact right answer to ensure that my work was perfect.
I want to go into nursing because both of my parents worked in the medical field. They owned a family clinic when we lived in Rwanda, my mom was a nurse while my dad was a doctor. Seeing how helpful they both were, I want to continue their work. To do that, I need to go get a nursing degree. However, I need financial aid to pay off the required expenses for the degree.
1. In September, my education came to a 5-week long halt as a result of the faculty strike. This was a very stressful time for not only myself, but many other fellow students that were attending an Ontario college at the time. It was a time of confusion, worry, and uncertainty as to if this was where my journey in becoming a nurse would end.
As I am a domestic student in my final trimester of my Bachelor of Nursing from Griffith University, I would like to apply for Queensland Health Graduate Nurse and Midwife Program 2018 intake. I am a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate with all the skills necessary to join this program and contribute to holistic patient care.
My calling to nursing started when my father got diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2015. I watched him suffering through radiation and chemotherapy, but what got him through those hard times was the help of some great loving and caring nurses. As I became more involved in taking care of him, my passion for nursing had greatly increased. Now, for nine years, I have maintained a commitment to caring for others in the field of Nursing. Being a registered nurse (RN), I have taken care of one patient at a time, which I have been involved in the amelioration of lives, and have only been left wanting to give and do more. Pursuing a master of science in nursing (MSN) is more than just a logical or natural progression for my career. It is a life choice, one that is backed by highly refined clinical judgments and in-depth exposure to an array of set-ups, and levels of care. In this personal statement, I will deeper highlight an explanation of my career goals, the reasons for my choice of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization, and lastly the reason for pursuing an advanced degree in nursing.
I started off in nursing profession some fourteen years ago as a license practical nurse. I further my education to get my associate in nursing nine years ago. After getting my associate in nursing, I never anticipate getting my bachelors until I started reading articles in nursing journals on entry level in nursing education. According to Beth Puliti in advance healthcare network, the argument to elevate the entry level educational level for nursing practice is not new. As early as 1965, the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing published positions that BSN should be the entry level into nursing profession. In 2005 I became an Lpn and started my first job at Broadview Multicare in Broadview heights. Coming in as a young nurse was not easy , a lot of my orders that I gave to the aides I worked with were not taken seriously. Even talking to the doctors made me extremely nervous. It felt like they were rude and consistently rushed me off the phone. But over time I realized , I must prove myself. It's hard for a new nurses to earn respect in the workplace.
