Decent Essays

After analyzing The Handmaids Tale, which was inspired by a trip to Afghanistan in the 1970s, there is no doubt that religious extremism and sexual oppression had a significant role in the destruction of many lives. Offred, the narrator and the main character, was in denial throughout the novel about her past life where she had freedom.
