Oscar Grant 3 Persuasive Speech

We’ve all seen, and pitied, that poor mom walking down the aisle holding the hand of an uncooperative toddler while using her innate mom superpower to wrangle the squirming infant in her arms.

Oscar Grant was a 22-year-old African American male from the Bay Area in California. During his life he participated in illegal activity, and spent time in jail. Once he was free, he decided it was time to change his life around for his daughter, and girlfriend. Around the time of his death, he was jobless and was struggling to find ways to take care of his family. Oscar can be described as compassionate and willing to help others. Oscar’s compassionate and helpful side was shown in the film when he cared for a stray dog and helped a stranger in the grocery store.

I am sure that everyone of you have heard about aliens and UFOs. Indeed, we all have heard about the famous case of aliens and UFOs in Roswell, New Mexico. Most people might be interested in the topic of aliens, but I know that the majority of you just think of it as rumours and the existence of them are impossible. Oscar Grant, a boyfriend and a father, was brutally murdered on January 1st, 2009. He was spending New Year’s Eve with his girlfriend and eight friends. When the train is stopped at Fruitvale Station, a fight begins between Oscar and an old rival, forcing the transit driver to call the police. When the police arrive, only a couple of the friends and Oscar’s girlfriend manage to make it back down onto the street before the police arrive. When the police do arrive, Oscar is already off the train.

The night was packed with many surprises, but only one girl walked away with the crown and sash at the 9th Miss Blythe Outstanding Teen Pageant on Saturday, March 4.

The tragic movie Fruitvale Station (2013) was about a young black man named Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan) who was shot by a police officer that ended his life. Grant was unarmed and Police mistook real gun for a taser and shot him in the back. This movie was based on a real-life story that happened on the New Year’s Eve 2009 at Fruitvale BART station. Filmmaker Ryan Coogler made a fantastic movie portraying the reality of the situation through hard work. He wanted to make this movie because he believed that it could have been him getting shot because of his color. The movie has portrayed the struggles of a low-class family throughout. Grant had to pay the rent when he had lost his job and help his sister when she was struggling to make ends meet. He was also faced troubles with the law near the end of the movie.

Have you ever seen or heard people say that the Olympics are not fair because of people’s size? Do you think size matters? People say tall people have an advantage over the short people because the tall people have longer legs, but with that being said with a bigger body you are heaver so it all come to be even in the end. I believe that the Olympics are fair, but if you think not I will persuade you with facts from the past and the present. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store.
