Iago: No, my friend. I hate him. Even though I'm highly qualified and was recommended by three of the most influential noblemen in Venice, he chose a man named Cassio who has no experience in battle to be his lieutenant instead of me.
Roderigo: If you don't like him for robbing you of the position you've always wanted, then why don't you quit?
Iago: I won't quit because I want to exploit him. I'll present myself as the most devoted servant there ever was and secretly take advantage of him. The first thing to do in my attempt to exact revenge is to wake up Desdemona's father Brabantio and inform him of her elopement with the Moor.
