The biggest obstacle I’ve ever faced was overcoming my fear of falling from great heights. During the summer break after my sophomore year, I went to a summer camp in Colorado. Unbeknownst to me, one of the activities at the camp involved rappelling down the side of a mountain. As I made the trek to the designated rappelling area, I was completely enthralled in my own fear that I had no intentions of partaking in the activity. However as a watched everyone in my group slowly rappel down the mountain, I realized that I need to conquer my fear. After some self motivation, I was hooked into the belay lines and I scaled down the side …show more content…

Some obstacles I had to overcome were mentally challenging situations. I always had people saying I couldn’t do it because it’s too hard to get into, especially for younger people, as me being 25. Another mental challenge is that it’s all on me, if I mess up I can’t blame no one else but myself. Odysseus had a challenge of this because he led his men on this journey as said in book. They trusted him, like my horse trusts me. We both had a lot of mental pressure from this and neither of us could mess up.
many obstacles along the way and still managed to overcome them. A difficult challenge I have faced throughout high school would be the time I decided to
My biggest obstacle was August 1, 2005 when our apartment building caught fire. My Mother, Brother, Sister, and I were home, it was the most distressing thing I've ever had to encounter. The night of my Aunt's birthday a fire started and the smoke made me feel as if I was drowning. My cousin Kendrick Weber woke me up, because I wasn't waking up when my sister tried. He pulled me out through the window and my forehead
A particular instance I had to conquer happened very recently. In fact, I am currently persevering through it as I write this. A challenge I faced was applying for ASMSA. I needed everything to be pluperfect. There could be absolutely no mistakes, as I absolutely had to get into this school. It would bring a multitude of opportunities, so I couldn't do anything to jeopardize my chances of getting in. My essays had to be the most supreme essays I had ever written. I just had to get into this school.
My biggest challenge in life was fear. Specifically, fear of failure in front of crowds since it have haunt me no matter where I go. I developed this fear growing up when people laugh at me whenever I fail in front of a crowd, or when I have to present in front of a crowd, especially those who have hated me. At the time, I have always find a way to seal myself from society. Consequently, it made walking through school an endurance test of my well being. Which made me get bullied more often about me being more of a shut in, as a result discouraged me from talking to people,

The number one obstacle that I’ve had to overcome is my mother getting arrested during the end of my sophomore year. All this drama started at the end of my freshman year, though, ever since then up until she got arrested she was running from the police. For a whole year she was going from house to house just trying to get away and I had to witness all of it. There were multiple times where I just wanted to turn
This experience led me to understand how every challenge faced in life is a new opportunity. There are not only risks, but also rewards; because of this, it is essential to maximize one’s knowledge of every situation, and to be flexible in times of change. I have encountered countless obstacles in my life, yet it is how I dealt with these obstacles that made me into the person that I am today. In time, I have learned not to let challenges distract me from achieving the goals I set for myself. The last few years have taught me that through the most difficult times, I hold the power to change my course in
If everyone could go throughout their entire life without having to face any difficulties, life would be too easy. We, as human beings face many challenges in our lives. We are natural problem solvers. All it takes is the desire to succeed in that which we set out to do. Facing an obstacle can be a trying event, and at times can take a toll on one’s mentality. We have become so content in our lies that any disruption could cause a major ruckus in our life. Take, for instance your job. You might have spent many hard working years at the same job, been a loyal employee, only to lose your job due to a layoff, or shutdown of the job. This becomes a major obstacle in one’s life .How you choose to look at this event varies dependent on one’s state
An obstacle is something that blocks one’s way or prevents or hinders progress. Many individuals have faced some type of challenge in their life, which has hindered them from progressing forward. Unfortunately, we can’t prevent these obstacles, for there a part of our everyday lives. But, what we can do is choose how we react to them. Not all obstacles are unpleasant. They force us to dig deep and find strength, and courage in ourselves. An obstacle that I have faced in my life that I am proud to say I have overcome, was my father being deployed several times in my youth. My father is an E8 (MSG) for the U.S Army. He has been serving his country for 19 years. During this time, I had to face multiple obstacles such as, maturing quickly, and
When I was a child I used to have the stereotypical answers to the question what do you want to be when you grow up. I specifically remember telling my Kindergarten teacher that I wanted to be a basketball player. At the time I had no clue the skill set and determination it took to become a professional athlete and I thought anyone could simply be what they wanted to be with ease. Over the years I started to realize it wasn’t nearly that simple and becoming what you want and achieving success entailed hard work and dedication. Particularly in the last year I have taught myself the importance of this dedication and how it directly correlates to success.
We all have faced an obstacle in our lives at some point in our lives. How and if we overcome those obstacles is entirely up to us as individuals. For me personally, the biggest obstacle that I have ever had to overcome has been depression. It has plagued my life for many years and I am just beginning to conquer it.
One major challenge that I believe I have faced is learning how to drive. This was a significant challenge to me because it was a really nerve racking experience. Most of those nerve racking moments were when my father took me out for driving lessons because of the stress that he will put on me while I was driving which made it more difficult to concentrate. Methods I used to overcoming this challenge were to calm myself down and to not put so much pressure on myself. With the stress that my father was putting on me and the amount of pressure I already had with not trying to make an error was already a hard enough challenge for me. Eventually once I got the hang of driving and the nerves went away and there wasn't so much pressure on me
Overcoming an obstacle can be easy as resolving a fight, or as hard as climbing Mount Everest. Everyone faces obstacles in their daily lives. Some put their obstacles to the side and decide they will cross that bridge when they come to it. Others charge head on at their obstacles and defeat them. I have my own approach that is lengthy, but effective. Though I am still young, I have faced obstacles and will continue to face them.
What will happen if you get bad grades. And that obstacle is something or someone that prevents you from reaching your goal of getting good grades.Which for me that someone will be me because I really don’t pay attention and I also don’t take notes when I have to so I can have them if I ever get stuck in the homework.Sometimes the obstacle of getting bad grades can be very hard to succeed because some teens have a hard time remembering what the teacher is teaching them mostly in math because you got numbers and words and many other stuff that you will not understand.
