Two things came into my mind.
1. She got really bad results and no qualifications so she ended up doing things like this, instead of getting a proper job. So the poet might be trying to emphasise how important it is for children to try their best at school.
2. She didn't do too bad at school but she got children at a younge age and that took most of her time so because she's single she can't go to work as when you get children
As a result, she lacked confidence in her education. She stated, “My early education did not partake of the abundant opportunities which the present day affords and which even our common schools now afford. I was never sent to any school; I was always sick.” Even though she did not attend a formal school it did not put her out of reach of a proper education (Peterson, 9).
Not only do these poems share differences through the speakers childhood, but also through the tones of the works.

The woman in Woman work is not well off. We know this as she says
“I tend to see the similarities in people and not the differences”, this was stated by Isabel Allende. Maya Angelou with her piece On the rise of morning and Cady Stanton with her piece Declaration of Sentiments prove this point greatly. While reading the paper, it will be seen the similarities they share in the topics of freedom and equality. It will also show the differences they share on achievement and success. Angelou and Stanton are not as different as some may think.

It isn’t always easy finding relationships between two things. Whether it is an object or a poem, finding similarities and differences includes a lot of examining and searching. Poems in particular take time to analyze. While similarities are interesting to find between two poems, differences are also very important because they are what makes each and every poem unique. Many similarities and differences can found while analyzing “When I Have Fears” by John Keats, and “I’ve Always Lived Across the Street” by Jon Whyte.
The poem is opened by a country woman discovering a dramatically changed woman that used to work beside
First of all, based on both poems, the attitude of the poets is influenced by the diction of the poems as well as tone and mood.
Therefore we have two poems which are deliberately changing their structure from the norm in order to create effect. However, these effects have totally different intentions, which lead to the end of the similarities and the first of many differences between the two poems.
In this poem “Woman’s Work”, the mother is forced to do household cleaning which represents a domestic life and the impact of gender specific roles. This poem is written in the third person point of view. The speaker is the daughter of a mother who doesn’t work outside, but only inside of the house, and is forced to do household cleaning with her as she hears her friends playing outside in the street. Author Julia Alvarez uses imagery, simile, and alliteration to portray the meaning of the poem that women work harder than men.
Poetry is a unique art form that allows writers to express themselves or things that interest them through a rhythm and style. There are many forms of poetry that give poets a wide variety to choose from so they don’t all sound the same. There are thousands of poets in the world. Each one has a different style and way of putting their ideas into writing. They all have different themes, tones, and techniques they use to convey their stories.
