I was recently shopping at a Speedway location in Flint, on Corunna Road to be exact. As I was walking out the Coca-Cola delivery person was waiting. The person was obviously irritated because he kept saying excuse me. I was only the last person coming out of six people. As I was walking out, he walked in pushing his cart and clipped my ankle. Though I was not seriously hurt, his cart did break the skin, causing me to bleed on my Gucci socks. These socks cost $75 and I feel that his impatience should not be excused. I would have stopped him, but at the time, I did not realize I was bleeding. I am writing and attaching pictures of my injury and the damaged socks, the receipt from the Speedway store that day, and the receipt of the purchase
Can you explain why the store did not take pictures of the incident scene and the plaintiffs’ shopping cart? This question would cast doubt on if the store was trying
Today, I witnessed a young woman with her little daughter dropped multiple hundred bills in the parking lot prior to getting in her car. An associate saw the woman dropped her money and tried to get her attention, but was successful, so he puts the money in his pocket. I instantly approached the woman and briefly told her what I just witnessed. She asked me to go back to the store with her to vouch for her to the store manager. I agreed. Once we informed the store manager and confronted the associate who put the money inside his pocket instead of reporting it to security or his manger. She was able to procure her money back. Then, she told me I was a life saver. The woman explained to me she just got laid and really needed the money to support
I keep running from one to another. The rooms are big with white walls and ceilings. Here and there bright colors decorate the walls. Small groups of people converse over their opinions. Children reach out to touch and their mothers pull them in, smacking their hands and telling them no. I stop and spin around, trying to absorb everything around me. Then I stop and stare.
As a child, I was fixated on the idea of growing up and how I would contribute to the world in my own peculiar way, but I never contemplated how my Rockford, Michigan Community would impact my personal view of life. The experiences I have had as a result of being part of this Community have not only impacted my personal view of life, but they have also made me come to the conclusion that a Community should exemplify values of leadership and commitment.
I was in the Wendy’s drive-thru awaiting for another vehicle to finish ordering their food. I felt a slight bump to the rear of my vehicle. I stepped out of my vehicle to observe the damage which was minimal therefore I did advise the other driver I would need to file a police report. The other driver became belligerent and started yelling and using foul language since there was no damage and they did not want to provide any information then what was given and then she fled the scene.
The town of Flint has a contamination of lead in its water supply, which exposed thousands of residents to lead in water. Before hand, Flint purchased water from Detroit, which properly treated the water with orthophosphate, a chemical that coated the pipes as water flowed through them. This prevents lead from getting into the water. Flint switched from Detroit’s water supply to the Flint River in 2014 to save money. But they did not use corrosion control to prevent lead from entering the water. The river was found eight times more highly corrosive than Detroit’s water. Most residents in Flint have old lead pipe lines. As the the water went through it took the lead with it in those pipes. Immediately after the supply switched the resident knew.

I recall a time when I went to Walmart to purchase some cloth materials for my daughter’s school project. Once the material was selected, I needed it to be cut. Therefore, since there were no employees in the area, I pressed the button that said “push for assistance”. I waited for 15 minutes, since no one came to assist me, I seeked the assistance of an employee that was passing by. She stated that she will notify someone to assist me and walked away. After 10 minutes had passed, another employee passed by, she asked “do you need help”, I said yes. I informed her that I needed the material cut. She then said, “I will notify someone that you need assistance” then she walked away. I waited and waited, after another 10 minutes I went to the electronic
The water crisis in Flint is a man-made disaster that gave us a dire warning of our negligence on the very basic things we should care the most. There were multiple ways to avoid this disaster from the very beginning, unfortunately, the people who are responsible for this did not care at all. The city officials did not respond to the public requests and demands, the state took it as a political issue, and EPA was trapped in jurisdiction, technicalities and legalities. The New York Times said this as ‘a depraved indifference.’ Governor Snyder called this disaster as his hurricane Katrina.

In 1855, a major lumber area and the critical stopping point on the overland trail between Detroit and Saginaw, Michigan was officially formed into the city of Flint. As the forests around Flint were gradually cleared, the city switched from lumber and paper manufacturing, to carriages and eventually automobiles. Between 1900 and 1930, Flint’s population increased from 13,103 to 156,492 (Manzella, 2011)1.0. Since 1893, Flint utilized the Flint River for both drinking water and for conveying its untreated waste stream downstream.
It's 2017, and we are still at the point of seeing numerous people out on the streets. Since 1993, there has been a dramatic decrease in Poverty, however, with Economy going down the Poverty seems to increase slowly without us noticing. With the many programs that have helped other issues, the thought of poverty has slowly been going non-existence.Though by using the word non-existence, I don't mean we should celebrate, but look at society and ask what is really happening? Media talking about the “flip bottle challenge” and not seeing those in flint with the necessity of water. Is this a joke to forget about the sad times or is it because Flint isn’t in the media any more people actually forgot. Poor Economy, Lack of Education and Medical Expenses
In the middle of April, I decided to go to the police station. The drive there from my house was roughly about ten minutes. Once I arrived to the police station, I had to call the dispatcher and request a ride along. The lady on the other line told me to wait for a police officer – she will notify them that I’m there waiting. I waited about thirty to forty minutes for someone to peak out the door and ask me, “have you been helped?” I replied saying, “yes, I’m waiting for a ride along.” He told me that no one is available right now to give me a ride along. He then proceeded to tell me to come back after six o’clock. I work at a restaurant, so I decided to eat there, chat with my co-workers, and before I knew it, it was already ten after six.
What happen was I drove into the plaza area and took a right toward Nutmeg Cleaners and the Eye Glass Store. I saw that there was a open spot close up, right next to the last handicap spot. I slowed down used my left turn signal and I started to make my turn. I thought I had enough space to turn into the spot, then I bumped into the blue car. I reversed back and saw that I chipped the blue car's paint and I drove down the aisle, and parked anyway from other cars. I parked and I checked the car I was driving and I didn’t see any damage just a few blue chips of paint. My goal afterwards was to watch for the owner of the car to get to there car and tell them what happened. But I was working while waiting for the owner to get to their car, so as
Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant and Walmart Assistant Manager, Jaime Robles. Robles stated that the subject had just exited the store and jumped onto a gold bicycle. Robles stated "he was going crazy inside off the store by shouting profanity at customers, he wouldn't leave so I called the police." Robles gave a direction of travel and he was requesting that a trespass warning be issued if the subject
